Fraser Rawlison, aka The ODDS Professor at Hasting's showed me a great template for the pick 4. A way to reiterante favorites yet have enough breadth to cover enough if a longer price invades the outcome.
Ticket 1 ticket 2 ticket 3 ticket 4 ticket 5
Leg 1 A ABBB A A A
Leg 2 A A ABBB A A
Leg 3 A A A ABBB A
Leg 4 A A A A ABBB
Ticket 6 ticket 7 ticket 8 ticket 9 ticket 10 ticket 11
Leg 1 ABBB ABBB ABBB A A A
Leg 2 ABBB A A ABBB ABBB A
Leg 3 A ABBB A ABBB A ABBB
Leg 4 A A ABBB A ABBB ABBB
A = your top choice BBB=your 2nd 3rd 4th choices
This spreads out coverage as well as has enough favorite redundancy to allow for multiple tickets if all the chalk comes in.
