Parx 3/18 races canceled

The card at Parx today (3/18) has been canceled. I do hate that because it's a favorite.

A friend e mailed photos of the track yesterday what a mess. They either need a new track surface or a new super. Aqu recovered from the same storm and ran yesterday. Parx has been losing too many weather related days of late. Like Mick it's one of my favorite to play.

Well here's some interesting info from my friend who works out horses in the mornings at Parx. He sent me an email and said track was fine.In fact he worked out 4 horses after the cancellation. It seems Parx has overpaid purse monies[a long story according to him] and looks for any excuse to cancel live racing.

They've canceled three of the last four cards, 3/11, 3/14 and 3/18, running 3/13.

Looks like they just want to run Mondays and Tuesdays
with bigger fields

I guess they feel handicappers can wager from home or at work:rolleyes:
on Monday and Tuesaday , and they can get the casino money on Saturdays and Sunday , save labor cost, and get bigger handles on Monday-Tuesday

They are due to start Sunday racing the 1st weekend of April.
