I have been playing Charles Town for over 35 years and Im finding it more and more difficult.Take for instance this horse running tomorrow night in the 4th race Davis Mint. After being held out for a year here is what the horse did
May3 23.3 48.3 1:30 she wires the field and wins by 3.5 6000nw2l
Jun 2 23.0 46.4 1:28 she wires the field and wins by 4.75 6000nw3l
How can you figure this cheap plater to be able to cut off 2 seconds of it's final time? This is what leads me to believe that the timer is out of whack there. If that's the case using either the match up or a program will really be of no use.For me it's really getting discouraging.Jeff

If it'a any consolation, CT has become more and more of a struggle for me as well, Jeff.
In fact, I've thrown all my pars out the window and now only evaluate that track on a race to race basis, giving heavy weight to the trainers. I tread lightly or not at all when it comes to betting CT.
EVD and MNR are still good. Although they are both sort of spotty these days (and MNR shouldn't be spotty this time of year).

David,I really appreciate the reply and Im thinking of heading in that same direction myself.I find myself doing better at Philly and will start playing Monmouth Park as well.Im getting tired of beating my head against the wall there trying to figure out if the times are accurate or not.Jeff

You MUST consider stopping play there.
Why? Because now there is a REASON why you will lose in your MIND. Whether or not it's valid is a moot point ok?
The SAME thing happened to me when Trackmaster stuff changed on 2/1. I lost almost 3 large in 3 weeks after sailing along comfortably for over a year. Eric Penicka told me " Rich there is no difference in my profits, things just look a bit different." It did NOT matter Jeff. The THOUGHT had implanted itself in my mind and it was OVER. I had NO shot to recover.
The MENTAL aspect of what we do is TEN times more important then the readouts. It can single handedly destroy us or propel us to new heights and profits never even dreamed of.

Richie,Actually Im going to take both yours and David's advice.Im not going to use the computer or the match up there any longer until I feel the times are right. For now I will use class conditions and trainer maneuvers which actually is the best part of my game anyway. Thanks to both of you for steering me in the right direction.Jeff

Jeff, this track looks tough to me. For instance the #10 horse in tonight's race of the week towers over all the others in the readouts. These seem to lose more often then not. You have horses coming out of 4 1/2 furlong races and going to 6 1/2 furlongs. I am just guessing if these horses will be competitive in this race or not. Aodds Gold does not even try to select a line for these horses. Jeff I don't talk about trainers or conditions much, but I look at these factors also. I especially look at no-win trainers that for whatever reason find a way to lose.
I realize the horse runs the race, and this is germane to the Sartin Methodology. The horse is my major focus, but in close calls I look at these other factors as well. Joe Takach used to have a list for these type of trainers. He called it his "Prolific Losers" list.
