Ok let's set some framework for what is going to be shown:

1) Program- Val 3 with adj for 8.2f and 8.3 f ONLY
2) BLF- 7.5 or less
3) NOT going past line 3 for ANY reason
4) max days for line - 365
5) NO turf line in dirt race
6) NO maiden races considered
7) WILL use xtractions AND projections
8) WILL use dirt line in turf race
9) NO regard for "class" of paceline being used. PERIOD.
10) using above guidelines if at LEAST FIVE horses can not be entered race will be PASSED and not POSTED.
11) "f6" function will be used. If TIE still exists the most RECENT line will be used.
12) due to the unreal amounts of rain at Santa Anita off track lines WILL be used.

FOUR screen shots will be shown for each race:
1) energy generator which includes % median and esp
2) early / late graph
3) v/dc incremental screen
4) bottom line betting line

NO hiding of ANY kind will be done.

If there are "Euro's" or horses with NO North American pacelines they will be noted on the first screen shot of race.

Readouts will be posted BEFORE late scratches.

Results will be posted on the "bl/bl" screen each night showing the winner, win $, place horse, and exacta payoff. BEFORE posting results on this screen late scratches WILL be removed so the bl/bl screen WILL reflect actual look AFTER SCRATCHES.

I am going to try to post every day of meet God willing. I have always wanted to try this and now have some time home to attempt it.

Based on these readouts and results I am gonna see if I can post some modeling info in the profile/ models section here

FEEDBACK and COMMENTS are most welcome!

Let's have some FUN!

I am going to REMOVE the v/dc screen as it is just too much "mix" for THIS track.

DAYS 1,2 AND 3 MODELS ARE UP IN MODELS/PROFILES AREA.

I know this is YOUR project but rule 8 could produce false readouts it's not comparable to today's race.If you have time it might be worthwhile to do it both ways. Shoeless

Hi Jeff
It is NOT my project.

I started posting readouts after reading a while back that "fast" and Ted C. had shown interest in working Del Mar based on a post I made concerning the use of % median and a "ranking" in addition to the actual number.

EVERYONE is welcome to join in with ANYTHING they see fit to post. ANYTHING!

In the spirit of HONESTY I do feel that if after looking at the readouts I post you have a definite opinion based on your program of choice and /or line selection that differs from my posted readouts an ATTEMPT at POSTING your thoughts and or readouts BEFORE the race is run would be real cool. We all KNOW the right things AFTER right? That is easy.

Ok as far as your question about possible "false reads"

I am using:
1) dirt lines in turf races
2) extractions and projections
3) NEVER going past line 3
4) using 365 days as my cut off

ALL these things can and WILL at times lead to what you refer to as false readouts. They will also produce BOXCAR payoffs at times that will leave people asking" how the hell could u possibly use that line here" ok?

Want an example? Look at Thursday's 3rd race I believe. a turf sprint where the winner's line was a 7f dirt line and the place horse was a 8.5f dirt line .
Guess what? they BOTH wound up in the top 3 of bl/bl producing a $ 243.00 exacta .

I am using the SAME process on EVERY race. Is it the "best" approach?
Heck NO.

Is it the ULTIMATE as far as CONSISTENCY, removing user judgement and letting the program DO THE WORK ??????

EVERYONE reading these posted readouts has the ability to work the same races using their own methods, programs etc. You can kind of compete against this FLAWED method daily !! This last line is MEANT totally in a GOOD way ok?

How are you doing readout wise against this MECHANICAL method? How is Speculator, Synthesis, Synergism, Homegrown, Validator, doing??????????

TOUGH meet so far in my opinion.

Gotta love it though!

Richie, Kind of a rough reply for only making a suggestion. You also know that Im doing lousy with the programs anyway so why would I want to compete.I wont comment on the subject any further you know way more than I ever will anyway. Jeff

Great work Richie, this is an excellent way to compare and work on ones paceline selection. When we differ I take a double check and try to figure out why.As always the extra work and effort is much appreciated.

Jeff you have TOTALLY misunderstood the meaning of what I wrote.

By competing I mean viewers here have the opportunity to select lines. hide horses, use different programs etc against a MECHANICAL process that has been documented by me.

We have ALL knocked our heads against the wall at one time or another when we have DEVIATED from a plan that we implimented which has resulted in a loss of CASH.

the OTHER side of the coin is when we have SENSED something about a race and made a GREAT call which has PUT cash in our pockets.

Ok my readouts here are TOTALLY MECHANICAL and will NOT change.

Users WILL make DECISIONS and over TIME if they WISH a comparison of whether decisions are HELPING or HURTING the bottom line can be checked if they WISH.

Nothing PERSONAL is INTENDED .

Richie :)
