RDSS not saving track surface changes

When I made track surface /distance changes to a card( Saratoga Saturday,Sunday) , they were not saved when RDSS shut down and restarted. They would change back to the original values.

Jim, I could not duplicate this :confused: For that Saturday June 7, 2025 Saratoga card, I changed several Turf races to Main Track. Then restarted RDSS. Upon opening the same card again, all the changes I had made were retained.


I tried the same for random cards of races on Sunday and again today at several tracks. Just randomly changing surface (and distance). In all cases, the changes persisted when I reloaded RDSS. The changes are stored in the database overwriting the former surface and distance values (i.e. not stored in the Cache, which can be cleared and regenerated).

If you can supply more nuance, or if you can try the same thing I did - just change surface and distance on any card to something else, click Update, then restart RDSS (then change it back).

Ted, same here. If I go to the Saratoga card Sat. all races off the turf are
showing up as remaining onTurf.

Re-did the changes today and if you Exit RDSS and reload the card the Turf races are noted as run on Turf.

The same thing happened to me. After changing distances or surface, and RDSS was closed then re-started, it did not retain the distance/surface changes.

Also, I could not get TM numbers or results for the Belmont Stakes race. I did get TM and results for all the other races, but no matter how many times I refreshed TM and scratches or tried to get the results those things remained blank. The only odd thing occurring for that card was that 2 races were cancelled late (9 and 12) and maybe that messed something up.

Was it just that card? Can you make this happen for any card, any track or date?

The issue occurred for me on both the Saratoga card on Saturday and Sunday.
When I tried it today , it was fine.
