Hi Richard,
I got your email addy from the site and added it to my list of folks interested.
I am surprised at the number of replies from folks who are not members here. I think that's terrific and I am working and learning on HOW to create something that will HELP people to make MONEY at the windows using Jim Bradshaw's Matchup as the cornerstone.
This will help "Form matchers" and "Software using matchers" alike :)
Hope all is well with you and yours Rich
stay cool.

In the begining, I asked Richie if he would share what he had learned about
The Match Up with others. Rich has shared what he has learned in the past
fifteen months with posts. Now he will share more with a newletter.
Thanks Rich.

The MatchUp : Find THE winner of a horse race, more often than not. Some like crossword puzzles, I like the MatchUp.
The Sartin Methodology and The MatchUp approaches and borders on Extra Sensory Perception, especially the MatchUp. It has all the elements you seek ; mystery, intellectual intrigue, etc,.
I defy a Chess Master or other scientist to match wits with The Hat at any North American racetrack. Mathematical Analysis and Experienced Scientific Conclusions are great, if the mutual clerk's hands tire from counting 20's and 100's to you at the window, where it counts.
The MatchUp will always be my one of my hobbies. The Sartin Methodology and The MatchUp; closest thing to a crystal ball or seeing into the future.
God forbid, if I ever get into bad circumstances. But if you happen to see a homeless chap, lying on the sidewalk wrapped in a racing form with a few pens on him, he might be me; tired and sleeping from practicing the MatchUp. But hey, DON'T have pity. Instead, tell me the last thing you heard The Hat and Richie P say on the MatchUp.
I believe the MatchUp and Sartin Methodology knocks at the border of ESP, stretching the intellect to loftier levels, trying to win.
Sure, you got them guys that can bend spoons and forks with their minds, find missing persons, telekenesis, out of body viewing, etc.,
Let one of them walk up to a mutual clerk , showing them the bent fork and the power of their mind , expecting to be rewarded with fresh, cold cash for their human potential. Watch the mutual clerk , instead of calling her supervisor for more hundreds like at some Sartin seminars at the track, he'll be callin security to have them escorted off the property. Let's see if they can bend all those buckles of the straight jacket they will be fitted with.
The Sartin Methodology ; THEEE Revolution and constant Evolution toward winning.
I'll stick to The MatchUp to exercise my ESP. VoodooFan

I too tried to send an email to the above address but it came back to me. Below is a copy of the email that I sent.
Hi I saw your post on "Pace 'n Cap". I have read the original "Match up"
and would really like to know more. I feel the "Match Up" is important
to my success in handicapping but I just can't get my head wrapped
around it yet. Any help, like a newsletter would be great. Thanks!

I want to thank everyone who has replied so far to my "feedback email". Surprised by the amount of interest in this would be an understatement man.
I am definitely seeing some recurring answers to my first question (what is the ONE thing you want help with to improve your matching skills) some of which are:
1) Projecting pace correctly
2) Positions - How they help with contender/wager decisions
3) 3 matching earlies spot play - Breaking it down step by step
4) Using software
5) What is a "Slow horse"
6) WHO to bet after reducing fields to 3-4 contenders.
7) Back to basics - step by step
8) Early or Other than early
I am working on things and hope to have something for everyone to see soon.
Thanks and good matching :)

Rich:
[I did not want to start a new thread so I apologize in advance if this is not the right place for my question.]
I have seen this problem before but it was made clearer to me this past Saturday (9/15) at Belmont. I utilized as always the RDSS/Spec 160 BLBL output for my preferred win selections on the race card but attempted to tweak the output choices as to the final win bets by way of the Match Up Methodology. Assuming that in my case I was using the MU correctly (no guarantees) I managed to talk myself out of some pretty good winners. Had I just stuck with the BLBL top tier choices I would have won for the day but instead I lost.
During my last 4 day visit to Saratoga when I was not able to utilize the RDSS or Spec 160 programs (no access to computer) I just went with the DRF and the MU methodology as my basis and actually did well. At other times when first just using the RDSS/Spec 160 programs as my basis at Belmont I have faired much better when just selecting among the top tier grouping without any other considerations.
After all that I have said my point or question to you and “The Hat” is have you ever been able to successful utilize the Sartin based computer program outputs with the MU methodology? I know Jim does not use computer programs but has he ever heard of anyone being able to successfully combine these different methodologies?
Thanks,
Robert
