The four best horses in the race are all front runners. Throw them all out?

Globalization should be able to see off other E and rest AD, but 2-1 ML is no appeal

#3 Hurricane Heat won.

A Presser with the best Late Pace. Only paid $5.60 though.

I'm curious, not specifically in the race you mentioned here, but in any race, why would you arbitrarily throw out the early horses that ARE the pace of the race?

I agree, is the Match Up suppose to be
matching running stlyes and which horses can run with the pace of the race ?

One of the things I remember most about working with Mr Bradshaw
was him teaching me

Who is the best Early?
Who is the best Presser?
Who is the best Sustained

Now which two will you bet

I would not throw the pacesetter out of the computer program. For example, if I were using Energy! his inclusion in the race would be mandatory.

However, in terms of win betting...if I thought the front runners would duel themselves into defeat then I'd toss them all on the win end.

In that situation I'd also need good odds to bet an Early Presser as the race would set up more for a pure Presser, Sustained Presser or Sustained horse.

Conversely, and what almost everyone under the sun knows, if there's a sole front runner with good EP figs then he becomes an automatic bet if the odds are sufficient.
