I'm trying to understand the use of a paceline from 283 days ago... I passed this horse as I usually do if I can't find a paceline < 120 days. Does the methodolgy encourage using such dated pacelines? Missed a winner at Tampa yesterday coming off a long layoff.

Hi Jim
I figured the line was from a win at GP at $8000
Then they put it into a mile at $20000. Old 91 must have blown a gasket
After a nice rest,Up to Philly again at 6.0. But in a very good company
(For Philly) $20000 claimer
There were many much worse places they could have stuck 91 for a first try back. So used the line
Then when I saw the 4 bl/bl to 1 vdc I had a bet

Doc used to say he accepted a lot of lines that others wouldn't. They won more races, he made more money. Its a matter of choice and the odds should be your guide. No hard and fast rule and its a scary experience when you do accept one, but strict recency guidelines just don't do the job with today's racing.
