...so I play around with Beulah today and run a few races while on a 3 hour conference call and in the first race I show the 5 Fez Up as the top rated horse on the BL and he's 12/1 ML!!

So I put in a nice win bet on him earlier today and just checked and he won... at 5/2 LOL

a win is a win is a win, but the price is mind numbing..

this is something I have always had issue with... a double digit horse that might be the best in the field that goes off at <3/1... I would normally pass on this race..

i look for another horse in this case, but it "hurts" to watch the horse win @ 5/2 being 12-1 ml. then i think:confused:to myself "hmmm everbody must be us'in rdss....."

And this kind of thing ends up being one of the problems when one studies handicapping using past results, on paper. The Charts don't tell you what the odds were 2 minutes before post, yet that is when you have to bet.

Don't forget to remember, though, when your horse goes up in odds after you bet. That happens, too!
