For those, like myself, who struggle to adapt to new software I
recommend trying "Snapashot" from www.nicekit.com

There is no installation and you get full or variable screen and it is
easy to save and print. It showed clear and bold in my test post.
It is S0000000....easy to use and it is free.

Here's what I got with the free version, Ernie, different file formats.

GIF
18334

JPG
18335

PNG
18336

The PNG format seems clearest, though almost 4 times as large as the GIF or JPG. This tool seems to render JPGs better than GIFs.

ScreenHunterFree is another option. I use Snagit ($40).

Snagit GIF

Looking forward to your reports!

My test was with the JPG format which looked good to me. Yes, I can see that
snagit is a little sharper. In any case I will preview all my future posts
and not irritate any of the members with unreadable screens.

I also use snag it at home and at work. It includes some really nice editing functionality as well. It's about as complicated as I want to get. They have a 30 day free trial.
