Congrats on a great day.
I have one question. How do I know which of the two horses in each of the groupings are the #1 or#2 ranking. I would like to track them like Bill L. was doing.
I asume you use the high #s to the left of the red & blue colors

It was definitely a wacky thursday... a few good plays on the turf... and with the addition of E/L2 ..horses that we would normally kick out has to be considered a use especially at long odds... unfortunately I like the horse that got Dq'ed in the 9th :mad:

Starting with the horse with the highest % you add the percentages until they exceed 62% and then add one more horse. The last horse added is designated the "Swing" horse. Then, USING ONLY HORSES USED IN CALCULATING THE 62% NUMBER (see the Accum column in the printout), determine the highest LOW number, without using the low of the Swing horse. This number is designated as the POR (pace of race - Schwartz terminology) So in this case you would see 1A = 91; 7 = 77; 12 = 73. Note that the Swing horse (3) has a 87. There is rule that if the highest low is more than twelve points greater than the other "Early" horse you use another method. Not going there for now.

Compare the highest low POR against the HIGH numbers of only the Early horses and eliminate any horse whose HIGH is less than the POR. This eliminates the 11 since its high is 77, well below the 91.

To more fully understand the entire theory you should go to Dave's website and consider ordering a copy of Early/Late.

The more people that understand this concept the better the chances of adapting and improving it inside the existing RDSS.
