I made it.. My horse #3 Back Pocket Money placed in race 7
Today was the final day of the Survival at the Shore Contest

I reached my ultimate goal I made it till the end.

I finshed with $483.20
There were 5807 entrants 679 survived
My total winnings total $483.20 was good for 1452 place :o

my bets were the best VDC horse, Ties were broken by 3F + total pace
after Aug 1st Bets were the 0.0 VDC horse

I had 22 winners, 24 place horses and 13 show

It was a grind I am glad I made my goal.
but I really am just glad its over. I will never do it again

But I do feel very good about finishing as a survivor

Congratulations Bill, and a job well done!

Do you believe the 0.0 % V/DC horse(s) was any improvement on using the V/DC rank #1?

Please note: I moved a few posts about usage of the VDC factor to its own thread: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7726

That way, it won't divert this thread from Bill V's goals accomplishment, which is what it was originally about. Please see that other thread to continue the (interesting) VDC discussion.

cheers,

Ted

Hi Ted The ranking 1 2 3 that Doc used might turn out to be better

VDC is so powerful but the numbers are usually so close
Just going by the 0.0 horse and then the horses closes to it
can hurt too.

Here is a comon problem I faced many times at Del Mar when making my top
3 VDC picks The top 5 VDC horses are so close to the 0.0
horse I did not include the winner # 5 because it had the highest difference
from the 0.0 horse at 1.9 which is still very close The standard VDC ranking
says 3rd but i was making it 5th

If I just went with the BLBL the 5 is tied with the 11 for third
and has better total energy
and the odds would have made it a bet

The 0.0 then best method is helpful when the numbers are more spead out
I think that VDC should be a aid to BLBL not a replacement
