Every Columbus Day weekend I reread this manual
The Psychology of Winning
Its In the Pace and Cap library in the manuals area

24233

Its fittingly listed last at the the very bottom.

Doc probably smiles when he sees the placement
as nobody wants to read this stuff . well I do

There is a test on page 16-17 It asked that the reader to
make 20 $5 bets on 2 horses to win $3 on the low odds horse
$2 on the high outs horse of your top two choices
24235
I do this test now and than I failed many times at the beginning
I never could stay with it very long

Now I zip right through it. Cause I believe in its power

Yesterday and today were good days for the test
Yesterday I bet from Monmouth with a voucher

But today I bet online
in 16 races I have 11 winners

The winners yesterday paid
$9.30
$5.10 0nly bet $3 my $2 horse scratched at the gate
$7.20
$11.40

here are todays results 7 winners in 8 races at parx

24234
The prices are low as usually they are for the test thats why its hard to make it for a 20 race cycle at the start, The test almost always shows a
profit and when it does not the loss is small
The last one I did I used KGEN and bet $100 won 111.70

This time Im using RDSS ValMode Top 5 Total Energy To 5 Primary Line Score
Best of the last three but trying to use the last line as much as posssible

I hide to top 5 then take out the worst horse on the VDC % screen
then Bet the top two on the Bottom line betting line score
$3 win on the low odds horse
$2 win on the higher odds horse

With KGEN I bet the top two finishers on thoromation

You might want to give this a try I find it really helps me
when I start to drift

When I go back to wager capping and exotics I have much more confidence
The manual is a great read

Thanks Jeff and Barb

I hope many of our group can take a look at this manual.
When ever I read it I see my flaws in a few of Docs examples.
Its sad but reality is that I can improve and I see I'm not all alone.
I see examples of non winners who I have met. I know what a bad mind
can do. What ever skill was once a seedling was not allowed to mature.
Often the skill is there but the skill can't grow because it is surrounded by
over growth of diseased non winners.
There is long road ahead , At times sadness comes , will this road jam break ? Sometimes I feel that the trip is never going to lead me to the destination, Yet than I look back I see how far I have come and I see all those who are far back,
I have the map. I know this road is to were I want to be

Interestingly, I am doing a three-part series titled, Howard Sartin and Me on my blog. The first post went up today. I think you guys will enjoy the read.

It culminates with a story about the very topic of this thread.

Yet to be winners

From Follow Up 72

Losers who will accept the true reason for their losing
and summit to counsel for growth will become winners
and make a profit more readily than those who win just enough
to be self-satisfied .. Howard Sartin

Great stuff Bill

Who do I submit to Counsel with, as my winning ways are not yet steady enough to claim success , thou much progress has been made.

I love reading the old FU's and get the mind-set of the people back then, and it really was not that long ago in the scheme of things, makes me wish I was around then , and was 1 of those truckers, but at least I do have that in common with Doc's originals, lol.

Hi Patrick

The council today is you You have to be alone and truthful to your council
There is a winner in everybody We each need to be alone within our minds
Have you ever said after a loss I knew I should have bet that horse
Not the cries of one looking for pity "Poor Me I'll never win" Nor the sad soul who must cry out "I shoulda had it" looking for recognition to him is more important than profits. I am talking about when your alone and you say
gee I know I have the skill why did I not bet this horse ..Those moments when Its only you who gives a crap those are your concil moments

When you look at your honest betting records, When you lay back on your
couch at home and evaluate your records 'Gee how could I improve'
When you really care and dream and meditate You will become your council
I suggest you read the manual
You may find the drama triangle chapter helpful

Every follow up has a P.O.W. article I suggest reading these
starting with Follow up # 70 upward to 88 These later POW's are when Doc was
no longer doing seminars or workshops This era was more in the one on one phase of his teaching and support. When I read them I find its as if he was writing to me a personal letter. Not the case but it helps me focus
Give the Drama triangle work a look

Anyone seriously wanting to improve their game and possibly become consistent winners of real money for the first time should read Bill V's posts and advice for POW study seriously. Your time and effort will be well served trust me.

Bill was one of Howard's favorite students and close friend and he passed on much knowledge to Bill both in person and through many calls.

#1 in my book :)
