The line info for Elusive Kate appears in some respects incorrect. The race she won on 10/2 was for 2 YO and only had 4 participants, the Criterium Pouliches, a grade 1, not the Arc D' Triomphe as shown on the TRIP panel.

I think there are a few other horses that raced on Arc day that have this same kind of misinformation.

Any way to correct this?

From the PDF I downloaded it states there were 6 in the field when it looks like only 5 ran.

race video shows 4, but distance is unknown - have not researched that aspect yet.

I think the distance is 1600 metres, 1 mile.

From Equibase PPs (http://www.equibase.com/breederscup/BC11_Friday_PPs_race6.pdf), looks like distance was 8f, not 10f. No idea why this happened

On Friday, race 9 at CD, the 5 and 6 are both shown as running in the Arc, but actually ran in a supporting race.

On Saturday, the 6 Brigantin is incorrectly shown in its last two races and look at the race 6 back, its on a different date

Also, the info for Goldivkova is not totally correct - last race at 7f, Prix Foret

I did not check any British races, but the French info = mal

Elusive kate was in a field of 5 in her last.

The 5 and 6 ran in the Prix de L'Opera, a 10 furlong race that had a final time of 202.74

Goldikova's last race was at 7 furlongs, not as shown,

Brigantin's last race was the Prix du Cadran a Grade 1 race over 2.5 miles with a final time of 4:30.52

According to the info in the horse profile Brigantin's last races were, in order,:

20f, grade 1, finished 3rd
15.5f, grade 3, fin 7th
15 f, grade 2, fin 3
20 f, grade 2, fin3
15.5f, grade 2, fin 1st
15.5f, grade 3, fin 4th, this race was on 4/30, not 4/14 as shown.

This info from Horse Racing Nation. Notice distances are different than shown in the RDSS download and of course times are messed up because they do not match the correct race distance.

Are any corrections coming from original data supplier?

If corrections are forthcoming from Trackmaster can we re-download without added cost?

Misty for Me info:
distance reported incorrectly - forget about the times.

I am going to assume that the Euro info is all subject to review and will not waste any more time trying to handicap races where they are entered until there is some clarification.

Bill,

As you note much of the race info for Euro horses on Arc day (and perhaps a few other days) are wrong, and this is not TrackMaster's fault (per se) but the fault of RDSS. Here's why (FWIW):

TrackMaster does not supply a Race ID # for each race to individually identify a race (e.g. Santa Anita Nov 3 Race 1 = ID# 12345678). So RDSS makes up an ID# for its internal database the first time it encounters that race, for future retrieval - an ID# based on Date, Track, Race # since those are all unique (i.e. there are not multiple Race #2's on any given day, given track). It then uses that internal race ID to retrieve the race-related data to compose PPs (same for horse IDs, jockey IDs, Trainer IDs, paceline IDs, etc) - that's how a relational database works.

However, data supplied for many (all?) of these bad races for these Euro horses are missing the Race# info (or they are specified as Race 0), so RDSS dutifully (and incorrectly) files the first encountered Race 0 on any day with the distance, surface final time, field size, etc info for that race - which will be correct for the first horse encountered (since all that info from TrackMaster is presumably correct) - but will not necessarily be correct for subsequent horses who raced on the same day, same track - but also apparently (though incorrectly) in Race 0. Of course they may have raced in different races, different distances, different final times, different other race info - but when I don't have a Race #, or a unique race ID - currently RDSS does not know how to differentiate those different races on the same day.

I am not saying it is Trackmaster's (Equibase's) fault - possibly they likely don't get the race # info to publish. But I would have to use other means to distinguish between different races (in the absence of a unique Race #) - namely a combination of final time, field size, race description - in order to come up with an internal Race ID#. And there is no way I can do this for this year's Breeders' Cup races. I am very sorry!

I will certainly study it further (as I have done over the past day) to come up with a good method to work around this for future Euro horses (and the particular problem when so many of them are coming from races on the same day - e.g. Arc day at Longchamps) - for the next release of RDSS 2.0 Beta. And I will bring this to TrackMaster's attention to see if we can get foreign Race #s in the data files.

RDSS will not do a very good job of analysing races where the horses don't have internal fractions in their pacelines. But at least you can view the correct Past Performances for these horses by using the free PPs provided by Equibase, here:

Very sorry about this problem :o. I am also checking now to see what happened in previous years BC races for Euros.
