Friends,
Our good friend and founder here, Bill V, is having some serious health issues right now - problems with his kidneys which have progressed over the past few weeks to where he must have some exploratory biopsy surgery next Wednesday to help understand further what is the problem.
He needs our good thoughts right now, as one downside of serious physical health problems is the possibility of becoming discouraged. I asked if it was OK to mention this, and he said it was - it would make him feel better. He is off the road (as a trucker) and safe at home with loved ones, waiting for the next medical steps.
Bill - your fortitude right now needs to be inner, not outer - to be strong in your mind and heart so you are there for yourself to work with whatever health regime comes next. You have been strong for others for so long, and your efforts and passion for Doc Sartin's work, your generosity to help others who ask for help, have gained you respect, admiration and love from more people than you know, from far and wide. Time to put some of that strong feeling of others in the bank and draw on it these days during whatever healing process comes next.
We don't know what lies ahead, but know every minute that you are not alone - that so many care for you. Let that buoy you up my friend.
yours,
Ted
Bill,
wish you the best. I'm sure you will pass these difficult times with flying colors.
To Mrs. and Mr. Varone my best wishes as well.
Positive thinking you must.

Just got home and sorry to hear the news, Bill. Hang tough, stay positive, and we'll say a prayer. Listen to your doctors and it will all work out. I went through something similar in late 2009 with my heart which hit me completely out of left field, and it's very important to stay positive and to think about all the things you still have left to do and all the loved ones in your life.
Lou
Best wishes and prayers for you Bill.
Just another speed bump. It may slow you down a little bit now, but won't stop you.
Keep positive, it makes a big difference.

This is just a little muddy area on the track. You will get through this and be back at a gallop in no time.
Think positive thoughts, absorb the love from Pace and Cap and look for the results of the tests to be as favorable as can be.

Thank you everyone
Your messages made me feel much better.
Its been a tough few weeks. I hate to be trouble
to anyone. and I always tried to tell myself "your fine"
The doctors and my body say "take it easy"
Funny In a email to Ted I wrote "Autopsy on Wednesday"
instead of biopsy:rolleyes:
Its taken many years but I think Ted understands Binder English
I do feel much better

Bill, my friend, my thoughts, prayers and love go out and are with you. Keep smiling, and think nothing but positively. I see you are doing that with your cartoon. Keep it up. This just an annoyance that has to be dealt with. There are too many things you have to do. My best to your Mom and Dad too.
Remember my first race at Saratoga when we sat together in the stands and both won? We need more of those. We'll do it again this year. Promise?

Hello
I want to thank every one again
I am feeling alright. Your messages here and the emails
and PM"s all made me feel so good
But the best was a phone call from Jeff and Richie on Sunday
I am just waiting now
but sadly, my company put me on medical leave and took away my truck
I will miss Margie 4, having put over 200,000 miles over the last 14 months
Anyhow
thanks to the methodology
I have been doing real good
I had a good day at Parx Sunday
and Turf Paradise yesterday
I am going to the off site wager center today
with my dad
so things are good
Thank you all

I want to see you both there and the rest of the gang.....
But
After 25 years on her job , Sylvia is moving to over to Morgan Stanley , that took them over , in June.....
I'm keeping my fingers crossed so that she can get the time off..
Plus this will be a big stress on her that she doesn't need..

Hi Barb
I am doing well I got great news yesterday afternoon
The biopsy tests show no cancer or dialysis will be needed Wow This is such a relief.:)
The problem is my kidneys have been very badly damaged do to years
of untreated high blood pressure. No further operations will be needed
At this time they have me on some serious medication that is making me very sick. I messed up. I am having lots of problems because of the side effects. I called Richie and wrote to many of my friends here at PC I was thinking all is well ....
I tried to out smart the doctors and skipped my dose yesterday I was feeling better because i didn't take the medicine I was happy laughing and looking ahead but then when I told the doctor today he freaked out.So I'm on full medication again and am feeling very rundown
It looks like I will unable to go back to work for about a month.
Hopefully my body will adjust to the medication and I will be back on the road soon.
They can't stop me
I HAVE ENERGY

Thanks for letting us know Bill. Good news that there is no cancer. Maybe it was a good thing you had this scare and now will make sure you stay on your medication until you are 100% again. We have our date in August remember. And I want to see you all fit and healthy and smiles.

It is very important that you take your medication as prescribed. The side effects you are probably feeling are due to the sharp drop in your blood pressure which can cause headaches, dizziness and difficulty concentrating. Over several days your blood pressure will stabilize and your side effects should diminish as your body becomes acclimated.
Hang tough Bill and let me know if you have any questions about any of the specific medications.

Hey Bill, please take that medicine, and if you must get out on the road I am sure you could ride around with me and teach me a little in return, ( alot is more like it), as I am heading right into Saratoga as we speak.
Besides we have brand new trucks ,Volvo's, and could always use a professional like yourself, just a thought my friend.
All the best and please get well, you are a grounding influence here on this board, we all get so much from your input.
