Today is Ted's birthday. I suspect that is why he took the weekend for a holiday.
I want to say what a wonderful sonA I have and how proud he makes me. What hopes and dreams I had for him on that wonderful day many years ago when I held him in my arms for the first time. He has far surpassed all of them.

Friends (and family) - thank you, thank you for your wonderful wishes! I feel very touched by your kind words and the past weekend has been relaxing (and today a whirlwind - but in a good way :)). There is a 'spirit' here I keep drawing on, like a drunkard in a wine cellar, like a horse led to water (somebody stop me ...)

Now if I can just finish the July Contest on time ... And I promise I will respond to the rest of my outstanding emails by tomorrow, promise :eek:

Bob, you make a good point. I would like to add my very small take on why this seems so. It actually has some "logic" (??) attached if I may say so.

When a person is 10 years of age, has a birthday to 11, that child just aged 10 per cent.

When the same person is now 20 years of age, a birthday to 21 makes the aging rate a smaller 5 per cent.

So, when we reach 50 years old, the next birthday ages us just 2 per cent.

No wonder time seems to fly right by!

I often joked about horse race handicapping and real life being more closely paired than one would think, or at least admit about in polite company.

My (current) profile has me slowing down to a crawl in 3FR with the e/l differential now seeming to be in the high +20s! ha, ha, ha

But here at paceandcap we're all just lucky that our Ted seems to get stronger and stronger as the race goes on.
