My Synergism 4 Race Folder For 08-02-12

I picked out 4 races for todays SAR and DMR.
I used Synergism 4 and set it up to accept the Beyer type numbers.

1- SAR (R7)..........#6 at 5-2 odds or better.

2 -SAR (R9)..........#8 at 5-2 odds or better.
-----------------------------------------------
3 -DMR (R3)..........#6 at 5-2 odds or better.

4 -DMR (R5)..........#4 at 5-2 odds or better.

Please see the attached folder containing the screen shots.

Very low and prohibitive odds on the (6) prompted me to pass this race.
This horse did not meet my odds requirement of 5-2.
However the (6) did win in a hot paced race. He went to the front and stayed there.

Bill,

Hope you do not mind me throwing up screen shots from MPH for upcoming Races 8 and 9 at SAR.

Race8 and Race9

Race 8 Results. Missed the 33-1 bomb with MPH but had the second and third horses in the mix for sure. Perhaps next race will be better?

Jim,

No problem.

Thanks, in retrospect, I probably should have started a new thread. Did not intend to trample on yours. I enjoy your synergism screen shots and thought it might be interesting to compare this upcoming Race 9.

Bill,

Nice pick with that 8 in race 9 at the SPA. Just missed at 8-1. Hope you had exacta and/or place money on him.

Between the both of us we had the exacta.
My (8) horse was a win bet but came up slightly short.

Bill,

Why use 4 instead of 3 which sticks closer to the TPR numbers in Pace
Makes the Race.

Jeff, I'm not following you. Which race are you talking about?
The only race where I am using the (4) today is Race 5 at DMR.
Is this the race you are referring to?

I lost the bet here and wasn't even close at the finish.

I believe that SYN 4 has more latitude and gives you the setup options such as using the Beyer type numbers.

The 4 was a prohibitive favorite at very low odds and never did reach my odds requirement of 5-2 or better. I passed the race.
The (4) never fired,

Bill,

You are a smart man passing races where you do not get the odds you set. Isn't it amazing what years of experience will do for us?

Parts,

Syn 3 TPR numbers are more like the ones in the book Pace Makes the Race.
It was the last program that Purdy did while he was still in the Sartin group.

Syn 4 he did when he left that's why quite a few of the headings for
the numbers are different.

I was never a big fan of Beyer's numbers.

Jeff I like Syn3 but the only problem I have is the pars
The other day I tried to do a 5.5 distance race from Woodbine
and I kept getting error messages saying no par time exsist

I like Syn 2, even hand entering my lines it does not take very long
to do a race

I am reading the synergism 2 manual these days

I feel I agree with Doc and Bob Purdy
with Syner 2 The user must do a bit of work before they enter pace lines

With careful analysis of each horses history at today's track, surface and distance
and noting what 2nd call each horse needs when it does well,
Finding a average set up figure and a pace scenario is easy

Actually a good pace analysis is vital when it comes to choosing how to sort the readouts either FW EP or SP
If the pace analysis is done correctly the DR factor is especially powerful

I feel that Ted has come up with a good procedure that automates the
set up times

Hi Bill,

Houndog updated the pars a few years back and was a lot of work so some
of the tracks and distances were left out. Also if some tracks that he did do
were not running those distances at that time they would not be in there.

Your right about the DR factor it is a powerful number

If you think Ted has come up with a good way of getting those lines into
Syn that is good enough for me.

Horses don't run adjusted times.
Set Up time can be Fulcrum and if not Fulcrum then use a track profile for the distance, extrapolate the average time at the 2nd.call, paying attention at the lengths behind as well. I don't use the 3 years best, I rather use the track record to be sure.
That's all folks and don't be afraid to go 10 lines deep if you must.

Pino is right about track record he pointed me in that direction years ago.

BillV,

I hope that Ted is able to put something together as it seems there is
somewhat of a demand for it.

But for a player like myself that only bets on weekends and sometimes
not at all and bets small it is not worth it. Besides the economy is really
affecting me big time right now.

Hi Jim G hope all is going well

Going okay. Thanks Shoe. I read what you said about the economy. Has hit me hard as well. Getting tired of tightening the belt. Best of luck if you play this weekend.

Yes Jeff
For some one like you, who does so much work before turning on the program
and since you just need a few
contenders and pacelines, you will always be fine

Also with Ted's hard work even though I totally am betting off RDSS and the
segments and BLBL screens Its nice that between the TPR numbers and being able to cross check with SYN 2 I will be very happy and have a very good idea of the
race

Bill,

Thanks but as we all know managing your bankroll and knowing when to
pass or play is really the name of the game.
