Can it be tough? Or found? Or any of the sort?
I've come to a conclusion that patience, rather lack there of patience, is without a doubt my biggest issue.
I'll be candid and tell it like it is; Anytime I got on a little (2 or more) losing streak, I love my patience and start to chase... I make a mistake, get annoyed/mad and want to chase. I have something go against me (objection or inquiry) I want to chase it right back.
I've done enough betting/gambling in my life to know that chasing never ends well. I went ahead and ordered a couple of books on the subject of patience. Well see if they do any good.
If anyone has any tip/advice/encouraging words, please share them.
Thanks a lot guys.

Because I Can Jim

Hey Moose,
While I am no self-help guru....
I will pass along a synopsis of what has changed my life...literally.
I have studied self-help idea/concepts/methods for about 35 years now. 98-99% of what I have read, watched and studied has been a waste of time, money and energy.
But, that 1%.... yes, it has changed my life.
Unfortunately, giving it all to you at one time would inundate you because you would not have the balance of experiencing (which takes time) the opposite to be able to recognize the true value of these things.
However, be that as it may.....
Here is what has changed my life as I experienced them in order:
1) meditation - emptying of the mind to bring calmness and clarity
2) An author by the name of Vernon Howard - his writings were many years ago - start with Psycho-Pictography - basically images/stories which allows one's mind to see the truth instantly (like and aha moment)
3) An author by the name of Tony Robbins - read Awaken the Giant Within - has had the greatest impact on my life- Period. To the point that I have done things like walk on fire. Which brings me to my screen name - Because I Can Jim - Whenever I was and/or am asked why I would walk on fire from people whom I know are not anywhere close to where I am on a psychological plane, my response to them is "Because I Can" because I know they cannot. This leaves them even more perplexed to the point where they don't say anything else because they don't understand. I 've walked on fire. I can do anything. This is because of studying Tony Robbins. It is all a state of mind.
4) An author by the name of Robert Kiyosaki - read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and at the very least the next for books he had written. It changed the way I think about money.
5) Lastly, some who will read this next name will recognize him from a few articles in the Follow Ups. I did not know that he was into handicapping and worked with the Doc because I was not handicapping at that time. Instead, I was studying his writings independently. Go back in the Follow Ups and look for Dr. Robert Anthony.
To this day, I still study and use concepts/techniques from all of these.
I meditate to calm my mind to stay in the now, in the moment.
I use pictures, stories and quotes to model what I want in a passive manor.
I understand how the mind works from Tony Robbins and how to change my behavior/thinking instantly.
I understand how money and finances work.
I have a better understanding of deciding what I want for my life.
Two very honorable mentions would be the books:
The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles
As A Man Thinketh by James Allen
I know you are focusing on patience Moose.
It is not about patience. If you study patience, you will get nowhere because that is the result you want and not the cause.
Who do I have to be in order to do what I have to do so that I can get what I want to get. (This is a paraphrase of a quote that I cannot put my finger on who the author was at this moment, but, the saying always comes to my mind.) BE - Do - Have
When you know/understand who you have to be, then patience or anything else you want to be, i.e. happy, enthusiastic, appreciative, grateful, etc... you name it, will be easy to do so that you can have what you wan to have.
Enough psycho-babble......
If you think my posts are long when it comes to handicapping, there is not enough space on the Internet (let alone this forum) when it comes to me writing my thoughts about being human. LOL
Hope that helps.
Jim
Create a rating system (corollaries) for your own performance and use it to handicap yourself. That will show you in black and white how to get back in top form!
First 3 days of my evaluation period were NOT GOOD. Last 2 days have been great!
Taking notes is some of the best advice they give here. It works.
See you in the winner's circle, pard.
