Anyone know when the track shuts down for the season?

I thought closing day was April 6th.......BUT after reading this Who Knows.

They have to be kidding, don't they??

Regulation of racing by the State of Florida is quirky at best. The state operates on a July 1-June 30 year. The GP closing date of June 29 reflects that. GP can't carry a pool over past the "end of the year".

The Equibase track schedule (http://www.equibase.com/products/racedates.cfm) shows GP closing on June 29 and doesn't list the start of the next season. It shows the Calder season ending June 29, and the next season opener on July 1. It shows nothing for Tampa. The Tampa Bay Downs web site says closing day is June 30. I'd guess GP will have another season, opening in time for the Fourth of July.
