Werpy LSP Caps Choatic late dd At CT 6-13

Been playing here the last several weeks with some very nice results. The late dd was comprised of 2 very pretty wide open races. I decided to take a shot and lucked out when a Werpy Lsp won r9 paying $64.80 capping a $389.40 dd.

Also check out the outstanding corollary support of the 2 on the bl screen. The RMATH LSP #5 wasn't bad either.

Congrats on this nice hit Obi-Wan. This is a wonderful example of positive gains through all segments and a top ranked VDC number = a Werpy LS play plus at 31/1 is a great way to end the day

Thanks Skywalker. Sometimes I am amazed at some of these LSP actually looking better then some of the short priced winners we get. I am grateful that both Richie & Dick took the time to share their LSP plays with us. We owe them big time. I just hope folks remember to check for these plays during their handicapping process. They are worth their weight in gold.

Nice hit, Tim.

What was it about the #2 that made it stand out from the other longshot possibilities in the race? Was it primarily the Werpy LSP, the BL/BL support, the V/DC ranking, or a combination of factors?

I'm always interested in understanding what separates a playable longshot from the dozens of others that don't get used.

Check the segments screen:
A Werpy longshot is a secondary or non contender who gains in each segment and has a vdc less than 4. I also look for a good performance in TS+F3 as support.

Tim's example looks really good.

Hi Tom. As Dick pointed out all LSPS are NON=Contenders. Once I id the LSP I cap it the same as I do the contenders. After ranking the contenders I look at the LSP on the BL/BL screen to see if they have any corollary support[ in most cases they have little or no support]. When they do[like both the 2 & 5 had] I look at the pay offs of the contenders with the lsp[both for win & place] and make decision on what to do]. In this case the 2 was a no brainer and the 5 was an ok play] Again I like to remind folks that these horses are a LS for a reason and most won't be playable. I am fortunate enough to have a bankroll that allows me to take some shots other folks might not be able to make so my hit rate is a little better then others may get.

Dick, Tim, thank you both for taking the time to explain it. That's exactly what I was hoping to understand. Seeing the thought process behind why one longshot becomes playable while another doesn't is far more valuable than just seeing the final ticket. Whether someone ultimately uses this approach or not, understanding the reasoning is what helps people learn. I appreciate you both taking the time to explain it.

Tom
