Hey Richie,

I am no expert with the software, but when I get some time in the morning I will try to work the race and post a few screen shots as well. I use the software differently, but what the heck, it would be boring if we all did things the same way.

Jim

PS...Hope your birthday was great

Wow, NW3L, none of these horses will be in the Breeder's Cup for sure. I chose a paceline that I felt was representative for each horse given the makeup of the race, then hid horses to get down to five using energy and primary line score. I remove 1 horse at a time and do not go past 100 days for a race line. When a race is full of horses off a layoff, I pass unless it is a mandatory contest race.

For me this race came down to the 1 and 4. The 1 is stretching out, has the rail going a route, and should get a relatively easy lead. Should be able to hold if not pressed too hard through the first 4 furlongs. The knock on the 1 is he has won only 1 race, so he is stepping up against winners of two races. I do feel the stretch out and key post position here will be a big help to him. The 4 came up strong on the software, as the pace line I chose, the horse made a nice middle move. At Tampa, I like to see horses on the lead or no further back than 4 lengths at the 4F mark in a route. 1 is 3-1 ML and 4 is 12-1 ML. I think the 1 is most likely to win but if the 4 is near his morning line I would be inclined to split the bet 60/40.

The two screens that I think tell the story are attached.

APV and CR are good but with horse 3 in the race # 4 has not been able to do
well againts this pace I see no color in the 1st 2nd str Fin. numbers
The 72 SR for line 2 is ok but its still much slower than horse 1
and it has the faster pace to deal with four is a NC

Here is horse 5
I see the last two lines have decent speed ratings
This horse also seems in trouble against the early numbers from horse 3
but its ratings are good and 5 looks like a horse that wants to win
Its the M/L favorite

A real puzzle It will be involved with the pace
but is SR in line 1 was good for this match up
but the horse trailed the whole race. I can go down to line 4
because of the good numbers on APV and the 7.5 turf race was a
disaster so I will ignore it

and its best races were at 5.5 and 5.0
It will be involved but It has done nothing since that CNL 91
and nothing at in its last two NC

Jim

On (one or all of) the Analysis screens do we need to show today's Post Position?

Ted

Ted

Only comes up when there is an entry in the race. Not a huge deal for me as you have it included in the entry screen.
