Results Of A Great Day Using HTR2

I am not here to dispute or disprove anyones method of play or the methods and tools others may use.
I can only account for myself and what I am achieving.
I thought these results would be noteworthy.
It might inspire those that are not getting positive results with what they are using and give them another direction in which to travel.

In 10 races at the Fairgrounds I had the winner in my top 2 horses 8 times for 80%
on 2 horse pick winners.
I am not ashamed to say that this was a first for me using HTR2 and it's data
On single picks I was at 40%
On bettable single picks I was 2 winners for 6 races (33%) with a postiive ROI (1.42 on every dollar bet).
I hit the trifecta in the contest as well.
The program and data work for me.

If there are those that are skeptical, let me assure you that these results
can be verified.

Congratulations Partsnut!

Glad to hear that you are having such great success with HTR2. On a similar note, while using Ted Craven's RDSS program (still in testing stage) at Fairgrounds yesterday, I got results closely resembling yours. The winner was in the top 2 horses 80% and was the top horse 50%. It also delivered two cold tri's, three cold exactas, three Pic 3's and one Pic 4 for an roi of 175%.

One of the two races it didn't get was the second race. Were you able to bring that one in with HTR2?

Keep up the good work...Marty

Marty, I am very happy for your success with RDSS.
I believe RDSS has some strong capabilities and should be a primary tool for those that choose to use it. Ted has put a lot of effort into it and I believe this program will get better and better.

The second race was one of the ones I missed.
I lost the 6th race as well where my choice ran 2nd.

I think its cool that both you guys are doing well with Sartin programs, it is even cooler that HTR stuff is being posted here. It took one of our own to get the program and start using it and then post something. It looks like the days of only one way are over.

Software

The best software for thoroughbred racing is not advertised anywhere. It is a customized application designed specifically for the individual user.

No commercially marketed software will turn a losing player into a winning one.

I just love absolute statements like the above. It is certainly untrue. I do agree that if you lack imagination and just blindly bet the top pick on a commercial program, the chances of long-term success are rare. However, good commercial software can provide unique data that when placed in the hands of thoughtful players that learn the ins and outs (strengths and weaknesses) of the software, and practice decent money management techniques, can enable a marginal loser to turn a profit. I know several players that now turn a profit due to their use of commercial software. By the way, their use is much more than betting the top horse to win.

Thinking winning

I feel that whatever program you use
the most important feature of that program is
confidence and a feeling of trust and comfort
For me, Once I start doing races with something then saying "what happens if I use such and such"
I know I am not in the zone. I am very happy for Parts-Bill and anyone else that he feels in the zone with his program
To me that is the Methodology. Its that feeling of winning and feeling good about it that makes us as good as we can be

I should have made myself clear. Folks are not going to go out and buy some software and turn into winners overnight. That is the decades old magic box syndrome.

Hard work, patience and a game plan to me are important ingredients to make any software work.

Thanks for clarifying. Without clarification, new people reading the board and fairly new to the game may think all commercial software would be a waste of time and money. As we know, your last paragraph quoted above is squarely on point.

Binder and Ritchie - Thanks for the kind words.

The 5th race at FGX is about 10 minutes away.
I have posted it for illustration purposes to show you what I like about HTR2.
Ritchies early Angle horse looks like my first choice.
See how easy it is to interpret the HTR2 read-outs.
7 to win - 10 for second choice.

.

Strangely enough, I don't feel bad because I'm still in a learning process.

The winner came from the 1st 4 "K" numbers, which wins 80% of the time, and if you look at the chart I posted originally, you will see that the winner was the second early under E/P and had a better velocity numbers for the last 2 fractions. I missed this.
However the race profile did call for an early type and I hastily picked the wrong one. My pick finished 2nd in the exacta which paid $ 196.40.

You learn by your mistakes:D Hopefully, I won't make too many more.

Partsnut,

I am really glad you are doing so well. I can tell you work hard at horse racing and I am glad to see it is paying off.

Parts,Great Job its good to see people post about software other then RDSS which only a few people have. Thanks to Richie's posts I hit the 8th at Aqu because the race setup as other then early and the horse closest to the pace won at 22-1.I would have had the 7th as well at 12-1 with a lone early who got the lead and was going to win but yards from the finish line broke down.Oh well that's racing ,I did feel bad for the horse and jockey.Jeff

The truth of the matter is that you will always do your best with the program that you are most confortable with with. And NO program is any better than the person who is using it. I was with Parts all day Saturday on voice on AOLs IM and I noticed that he was not doing the "black box" method. He was reasoning out all of his picks with special emphisis on certain readouts that caught his eye. There will never be a "black box" method that doesnt require some human thought. Equity traders for years have tryed to come up with these "black box methods" The idea behind this was that all human emotion was excluded creating what they thought would be a consistant method. They worked great when the market was trending strong eithor way but when consoidation ( sideways non trending markets) was there they failed terribly

Jim G., Shoeless, DugoutGold, Fast4522

I appreciated your encouragement and kind words.
You guys are truly friends that I'm happy to say are a part
of this board and make it work.

I've picked out five spot plays at todays PHA.
I used HTR2 - No Black Box here.
Simple interpretation of the data which is very straight forward
and applying some of Ritchies concepts where they apply.
I am looking for 40% winners, 2 out of 5, single picks.

Race - 5.....(4)

Race - 6.....(7)

Race - 7.....(6)

Race - 8.....(4)

Race - 9.....(2)

Let's see how we do.
Opinions and comments on these races are always welcomed.

partsnut 03-05-2007 04:44 PM

Race - 5.....(4)

Exactly

I thikn Howard and company taught me how to win, not how to use any program. I use HTR, I use CJ pacefigures, I use T-mation and Kgen on triple crown races and Breeder Cup, I use Moss pace figures in version of the match up, I use Validator on a track a week.
Not that I am switching to fing someting that works - they all work. I can use my Sartin basic with them all - tandems, pace of race, place horse contra energy, whatever. I like to keep it interesting. It is a game, after all.
When I used to travel a lot, I would pick up a form and use Total pace and pencil at whatever track I could get to.

Thanks to Howard, Jim, and the rest, I feel confident using whatever is available. Although Val has really left me shaking my head sometimes - that sucke rmakes very nice calls!

Totally Agree

Tom, I am in total agreement with you. I have also used different programs that picque my interest. Currently I am working with THOROVISION since it has some readouts that are rather unique. The program is holding it's own even though the track pars are about 10 years old. The Class Ratings also seem to work well.

I thought I would try it out again since the Downloads are still available through HDW.
