Jim G hammers Bris tourney!

Jim G has just grabbed 2nd place(out of 210 entries) in a Bris online tourney! Missed winning by a buck man.

Gets $600 beans PLUS a free entry into the closed Bris tourney in August that pays 60 LARGE to the winning player!

Simply awesome **** for a super capper and even better human being.

All the best Jim and take their asses down come August
Richie

Thanks guys,

It is a good confidence builder going into the DEL NTRA qualifying tournament next month. I actually ended up just 2 bucks short of $800 for my payout in this weeks BrisBet contest. 1st place was good for $1600. Of course, the real carrot is the August tournament that you much pre qualify for. Each week 40% of the weekly pool goes to the August tourney.

4 wins and a second in 7 races was not good enough for the win. LOL Some real good handicappers play each week for sure. You are allowed to qualify twice so maybe I can get lucky and qualify one more time for the big tourney

Jim,
This is not the first time I have seen you mentioned doing well in a turney, so what do you use as your main software and or way to go?

Shoeless, you congratulate me in an earlier note, then call me out in another. Why?

It's not related to the Sartin Methodolgy, so I prefer not to discuss it on this board.

shoeless 05-30-2007 06:40 PM

That's fine I was just making a comment .

Jim & the Bris contest

What ever software you use, it's quite an accomplishment to finish so well in a national contest. I used to feel that contests were a weak substitute for the real thing. However, I've come to believe they're far more difficult than betting with so called "real money."

When I bet "real money" I select the races for wagering, not so in a contest.
I structure the bet; win, place, exata, tri, etc., again not so in a contest. I select the amount to wager, not the case in most contests. And if I'm not up to it on a particular day, rescheduling the contest is not an option.

Again, congratulations.
Regards,
Chris

Thanks so much Chris! I appreciate the note. We all hear and read about the need to find value in our daily play. No question in my mind that is very important. I feel it is even more important in contest play. It is also very important to completely know the rules of a contest and (hopefully) use those rules to your advantage. Contests can vary greatly and the strategy can as well. I like contests because most of the time you are playing against little or no takeout as most, if not all, of the money collected goes into the prize money.

As far as daily play goes, I am a big believer in making a betting line and sticking to it. Many times the races I do not play are as important as the races I do.

Again, thanks and best of luck to you.

Jim

What a great showing ! Nice work Jim ! I know what you mean about the importance of races you don't play. The last two years I buried myself playing races in the Delmar contest nobody should play. Good Skill for the Delmar and the Augest contest.

Shoe, I have never understood you other than to think if someone stopped to fast in front of you that you would be gasping. This is to say I respect all others for going it the way they go if the road is less traveled rather than follow the leader or take orders from some underling want to be.
