Brrrrr

It's 19 degrees here in NYC and the wind chill makes it feel like 2 degrees. Sure glad I'm not sitting in a saddle at 40 MPH.

AQU
First race

I'll take a shot with the shipping in 3 horse. Mostly poly races bug me a bit, but the race two back on dirt is decent.

I'd prefer some more recency in the last workout though.

raceman5 01-14-2009 11:47 AM

Aqu Race 1 7-6

Aqu Race 2 5-4

Vinnie 01-14-2009 11:59 AM

AQU R1- 7 & 6 to Win. Exacta box 167...

Tim Y 01-14-2009 12:04 PM

on a fair track like FG or Belmont, the six would be the top choice, but this is inner Aqu in the winter::3: :7: :8: are much closer to that reality

Even the four has an e/l close to the winning profile.....Might be a pass however

six days

Aqueduct Changes
Wednesday January 14, 2009

The Main Track condition is now: Fast

I'm only playing Aqueduct today. As such I've got time to make some detailed Fair Odds Lines.

1st:
#3 2.6 to 1
#7 3.8 to 1
#6 5.2 to 1
#5 5.7 to 1

Yeah, I have a good ranking on the 6, but he'll be coming from the Bronx in this field. Unless he reproduces that Kentucky race of four back. but that one seems the exception, not the norm.

he does get Dominguez, BUT still too far back

that one's NINTH line back makes it eligible but that was a long time ago

when the little voice says watch,. it is usually right.

SOMETIMES, like here, One listens to that voice

alydar_ David 01-14-2009 12:42 PM

Good call, raceman. And Vinnie had all three.

I certainly have that vibe about the second race, although it is possible that Ramon will take the early double.

I hope for his sake that he made a triple box instead of his planned exacta.

Still, 48 bucks is nothing to sneeze at.

Charlie D 01-14-2009 12:46 PM

Nicely raceman and Vinnie

mikesal57 01-14-2009 12:50 PM

Aqu race 2

even though the fraction times dont show it , but the #2 horse is getting better 2nd call times...also he ran wide last race..

mike

Tim Y 01-14-2009 12:52 PM

time was, before whatever track surface change they made there on the inner that has lowered, CONSISTENTLY,the sprint e/l profile, that :2: and :4: would be a lock here, and they still might even though the :8: will be there .......ALMOST

mike

improving but more akin to ONE race

Vinnie 01-14-2009 12:55 PM

Thanks Fellas:

Unfortunately, I only had the Exacta. Being honest, I never expected for it to pay nearly $50 bucks. I wish that I had the Tri., but, I am fortunate for the hit.. :)

Charlie D 01-14-2009 12:56 PM

Aqu 2

looks chalky to me

#8 has claims, but race shape not suited to mars hoss

Pass

Vinnie 01-14-2009 12:57 PM

AQU Race 2.. I don't like this one at all as all of the horses seem to be moping about form wise. I only like the #5 but crushed at the lines, I would have to pass on this one.

alydar_ David 01-14-2009 12:59 PM

AQI

2nd: Not wild about anything.

I'll make a pig play.

#1a at 13-1 is the best closer.
#3 at 24-1 is third off the layoff

raceman5 01-14-2009 01:06 PM

Aqu Race 3. 6-3

Vinnie 01-14-2009 01:15 PM

AQU R3- #6 to Win, Exacta Box 236....

Tim Y 01-14-2009 01:20 PM

Take the :2: with TWO pounds of salt here as those Philly lines are too fast.It appears to be a two horse contest late between :3: :6:

in previous seasons, :5: would have been a strong consideration but NOT on today's inner

clore1030 01-14-2009 01:21 PM

AQU third race.

Not wild about anything here, but at 5/1, the 3 is worth a wager.

Hope the 5 doesn't get loose, but the track hasn't been cooperative in that regard of late.

Same raceman

Failing to menace last time is tad off putting on #3 mind

Passin

ANOTHER philly shipper bites the dust

too short to bet anyway....still waiting for a wager here,

Reading a great book about Man O'War and racing in his day was NUTS....One of the biggest races of that era, The American Derby, was held up AN HOUR AND A HALF, at the start, in order for the starter to get all the colts in line for a fair beginning

Profiler8 01-14-2009 01:33 PM

Hi everyone,

Turfway Park second the 6-1 against the big favorite.

raceman5 01-14-2009 01:39 PM

Aqu Race 4. 5-7 Very ugly race.

Tim Y 01-14-2009 01:45 PM

:4: :5: look logical but :7: might steal away here and even the fast improving :9: could get out early and not look back

More study before a wager

tfm 01-14-2009 01:48 PM

TP R#, #11, Dan's River

But only at >= 10:1

Edit: he was 11:1 when I initially posted. He's now down to 7:2.

No play at those odds

Vinnie 01-14-2009 01:50 PM

AQU R4- 2 and 4 to Win although I am not liking the odds at the moment. Considering a pass.

mikesal57 01-14-2009 01:51 PM

aqu 4

taking a shot...#9

Tim Y 01-14-2009 01:56 PM

5 7 appear best here but happy to pass it again

tfm 01-14-2009 02:04 PM

GP R3, #11, Five Star D J

ridiculously overlayed at 15:1 with 9 minutes to post.

raceman5 01-14-2009 02:10 PM

Aqu Race 5 4

It does look like the 4, but an even money horse with seconditis doesn't get my money.

I'll pass.

how does one beat the FOUR here? The one might get out early and hang on (in days of old as it is improving early) but that track is not the speed paradise it has historically been,.even :6: has some back class but nothing of late AND Dominguez is now on the Rail horses so that might be a shot at 9/1
