4/2 Thirsty Thursday Selection Thread

Aqu 1st. 4,6 out front... 2 close behind.

Ted Craven 04-02-2009 01:28 PM

AQU 2nd win 1,5; exacta 15/154

mikesal57 04-02-2009 01:30 PM

nice..

tell me something...the 4 had the lead with a 24+ quarter, then the half was 47+ and wasnt really running hard...what happened???

mikesal57 04-02-2009 01:33 PM

now this is totally frustrating me...2nd race #7 ..23.10 qt...46+ half..holds on to win

help me please

Ted Craven 04-02-2009 01:39 PM

Who knows! From a wagercapping point of view: OK the 5 was not a contenda today, so skip over the 8/5 top ranked #1 and you have a pair of 7/2s in the 3 and 7 or $9.60 for $4.

Sorry, I'm not much of a matcher...

Ted

Mike, I thought the 4 had a good shot considering how slow it was, but the other horses weren't far off the frontrunner. Not sure what happened. I also saw that the 5, who finished 2nd, had 2nd time lasix, which I am told can be the time when that drug really shows it benefit. 2 was much the best though

I have to go with Tim Y here and say that I only look for top E/EL and EPR at AQU, it does seem to be very consistent. Below is what I had from second race.

The 7 2 back had a decent Early advantage.

mikesal57 04-02-2009 01:48 PM

I'm missing Tim today..I'm sure he woulda explained it...;)

I didn't like the 4 horse. It showed three races at a mile and it came in second in each one. It's last win was a 7.5K claimer, and today was quite a few steps up.

The entry in the third race at 2/1 may be the bargain of the day.

i was just looking at the 3rd ,Charles...what will the 4 do with pressure today...I'll take the 2 at 6-1

JLG 04-02-2009 01:59 PM

Need to Pass AQU 3rd. GL

The 4 didn't get the kind of pressure that either of us expected.

JLG 04-02-2009 02:12 PM

AQU 4th. Had the 4 with a large EPR advantage... 20/1 ml... however he seems to be heading in the wrong direction. Can't bet him at 3/1 which is what he is currently at with the scratches. Others must see him as lone speed as well.

If I assume the 4 is going backwards, and the 7 stays @ 4/1, I think the 7 is the bet

may do a little 6/7 exx action as well

JLG 04-02-2009 02:30 PM

LOL.... EARLY, EARLY, EARLY at AQU... couldn't take that 4 at 4/1 however

I can't play maidens running at that low level, but a standout at 4/1 is a good play.

I'm passing the fifth as 7.5K claimers are too low for me.

Jim,

He's not going backwards, he just hooked up in that last race with a first timer who both blew their brains out on a 22.8 first call pace neither of them could handle.

No one else showed to press that pace today, and early continues... :)

Oaklawn 5th hardly a surprise :1: :4:

JLG 04-02-2009 04:11 PM

question - is there a way to minimize super tote without having to close it?

Tim Y 04-02-2009 04:13 PM

Pace less 8th at AQU might be a default to the SIX: none of them are anything but LATE and that is not the style at AQU. Close at 9 but not the style.

4 is the best closer too

I caught the 4 by combining two pace lines, the second and sixth lines on the list. I wasn't about to penalize him for the slower time of a mile on the IDT, and the races at the distance at both AQU and BEL further down were good ones.

Oaklawn Park Rac 6

hello everyone:

Let's go with the 2 - 7 - 9 at Oaklawn

The 6-5 #3 is tough so I guess I need to include him as a saver.

If any of my top three picks win, I got the Pick 3.

Good luck everyone

Good job, congrats.

Carry at Old Jamaica....

... err, I mean Aqueduct, of course :)

On TVG it was just announced that there's a carryover at Big A for Friday.

Evidently the faves in the first four races there went down the tubes.

I think I'll take a shot.

Good luck.

Tim Y 04-02-2009 04:54 PM

:5: :9: AQU nightcap 4 8 underneath
8/9/4

Finale at Big A

I need the 5 at Aqueduct.

He's now 2-1 so he must be dead <s>

reckless 04-02-2009 05:02 PM

I stopped the #5 in last ... bad start but he still would have stunk up the place nevertheless.

Today was my first day 'capping with RDSS... Pick 3 hit at Oaklawn for $580 or so, okus three winners hit straight: race 3, race 5 and race 6...all 5-1 or better,

I say this not to boast but to say that RDSS is tremendous and a public shout out to ted Craven, who patiently gave me a quick run-thru class this morning.

Thanks Ted!!

Tim Y 04-02-2009 05:05 PM

EIGHT is a steal at 2/1 in Oaklawn's 7th

Tim Y 04-02-2009 06:09 PM

Can't separate :4: :5: :9: at Oaklawn's 9th three could come from the clouds underneath as well

Tim Y 04-02-2009 06:31 PM

Argh the best horse is seen by the crowd :1: but :2: and :8: might make that one run a bit, as it deserves to be short against this field

Okay 1/2/8 but short prices all around
