Too modest Rich!! You know my biggest problem is learning when to pass races and which ones to bet on. That lesson is from you and is the biggie. That's just starting. I'm still only hitting 8 or so out a 20 race cycle.

Amazing when you STOP betting chalks(less than 5/2 at 2mtp)) how those 8 wins add up to profitability most cycles.

Risk vs. Reward

That is one of the first things I learned when starting to handicap seriously. Profitability trumps number of winners. And that is why public handicappers have negative ROI, usually. They are under pressure to pick winners regardless of price.

After a year and a half of slogging (it's hard to believe I knew nothing about this sport two years ago) and books of record keeping, I think I'm finally beginning to get the first glimmer of a feel for the handicapping part.

Now I have to learn how to make intelligent bets. My handlers made me stop betting real money a couple of months ago..it's been back to being on paper.

Maybe by the time Saratoga rolls around, you'll see me walking up to that window.

btw I'm having the time of my life.
