RDSS Update + Decision Model Workbook - Rdss
 

Attached is the Workbook.

It flows left to right on the RDSS upper tabs starting with the Apv and Cr on the entries screen.

There are no formulas written as I don't have that wonderful talent. If someone does and they wish to take it and throw some magic on it for everyone that would be a bonus :)

ALL RDSS users this coming week will be receiving from Ted an update bringing back the ability to see and track PACE OF RACE velocities and Energy expenditure(in addition of course to the pace of horse) on each paceline! This will be found on the "Velocity" tab ONLY (see attached screen shot please. 1st one shows Pace of RACE while 2nd one shows pace of HORSE)

This has been absent from Sartin programs beginning with the Validator series of programs, had been an absolute staple of the Methodology and pace capping in general from Taulbot to Mahl to Sartin to Bradshaw. Pace of RACE evaluation is BACK and is done at a quick flip of a toggle!

It has been tested for a few months and Ted wants it back in our arsenal NOW! :D

You will see "Por" rankings for several categories on the Workbook so it is all ready for you when you get the update should you desire to use the Book.

Please if you have even the slightest doubt as to what you are looking at don't use it until you WATCH the video. Sorry I can't answer any questions posted today as racing beckons strongly

I will start making the video explaining EVERY readout on the Workbook with screen shots etc this evening after I am done with my racing for the day. It will be rendered and uploaded here by tomorrow early evening at the latest.

I.M.H.O record keeping is one of the three defining qualities that winning players have.

Hey guys. You have to have Microsoft Office 7, not 3 to open it. I tried on my laptop which has excel in office 3 and got the same message, but when I went to my desktop which has excel from office 7 it opened. up fine.

Here is the same workbook but with file extension that WILL work for those using Excel 2003 etc

Although I do not have MS Excel I found that the Rdss Decision Model that works for 2003 MS Excel also works for Microsoft works.

That's coming... (not this week). I think folks will likely choose to track factor models and wagering decisions right from within RDSS, though slice-n-dice exports to Excel (and other data formats) will be there.

Look for an update to RDSS sometime this week (V0.98.7) to enable that Pace of Race Velocity screen toggle Richie has been experimenting with. (I hope he makes another video showing some techniques of how he's been using it ;) )

Pace of Race / Pace of Horse
 

One simple yet pretty cool use of the Pace of Race tab coming this week:

This is the finale at Suffolk today. Best of last 3 using default settings

1st screen shot shows Bl/Bl and 3 good overlays in top 3 with favs below. Wagercapping potential for sure if we can get a run and some luck.

Bomb sitting tier 3 (#3 @17/1) is highest odds overlay in top 3. 2nd screenshot shows his pps and is coming off sharp win and rising in company.

3rd screenshot shows pace of horse velocities.

4th screenshot shows the pace of RACE velocities and here you see that the #3 Bomb ran against BOTH the fastest 1c and 2c pace of RACE velocity.

Certainly can do nothing except tap up your confidence a bit on a long shot wager. Is that a reasonable call? Forget the possibilities longer term with a bit of modeling in the workbook or record storer of your choice.

So longshot bet in tier 3 now also shows fastest pace of race 1c and 2c from its paceline race (last line)

The Early-Late Bias Technique that you found at Arlington Park will be part of my result checking procedure at Saratoga! A very astute observation and I for one appreciate you sharing it with us!

But it would have been a tough bet for me to make seeing that his 2 best races were on off tracks...but at 17-1 would you/or anybody else consider it??

and Although the guidelines are to bet big overlays in the top
3 , considering the odds on the other two in the top 3
BLBL I don't think I would have bet the off track 3

remember... sometime to be contrarian does pay. Not to be afraid to choose an unconventional pace line.

Once I get a horse into the Top 3 BL by consistent, normal means, even though they be 3rd or a long price according to the crowd, I'd look for reasons to build confidence. Whatever work he did and over whatever quality track surface he did it, it was against the fastest adjusted pace to the 2nd call, closing as he normally does - and you have to either set or overcome the pace of the race to win it. His profile works well here. The good odds are insurance against loss (i.e. you may lose this race, but keeping within these scenarios means you can lose a number of these and come out ahead when they hit). Perhaps Win only is a bit too daring, but Win Place, or somewhere in Exactas seems prudent.

Of course you can also see best POR (ranks and time, not velocity) on the Adjusted screen.

RDSS Update Available (V0.98.7)
 

The software update which makes available the Pace of Race Velocity display can now be downloaded from the RDSS Download page (you need to be signed up for RDSS).

This is a minor update. If you don't need to see these new Velocity readouts, or you don't suffer from the irritating ZIP routines bug, there is really nothing you need from this update.

Well, you convinced me to add a small export feature to the RDSS Analysis screens to send the data to an Excel spreadsheet or a CSV file (actually, using the existing Export Window). Then, just cut and paste that into your factor model worksheet. Give me a few days to tidy it up and I will release another update with this, this week.

Is this what I think it is, automated , almost, record keeping, thru exporting into Richie's workbook?

That would be a time saver, but , you know the old saying when it sounds to good to be true , it is too good to be true, guess I wait and see.

YES.

I have seen a snapshot and if it delivers the record keeping I did on just three tracks last week (5 days) and saves me the time it took to manually enter winning corollaries(that was appx 7 hours total for the week) it will be tremendous.

Keeping my fingers crossed because I am basically a retard with spreadsheets.

Hurry please, I can't wait!!
