Follow Up as searchable PDFs
I am in the process of converting the Follow Up issues into searchable PDFs for my own use.
If there is any interest in my posting some or all, please let me know. |

Hi
Could you explain in easy terms Lawrence |
Follow Ups
The Follow Ups were scanned as images, not text, then saved as PDFs. When I try to search the downloaded issues for something like "contender" or "wagercapping" nothing will be found since the PDF is based on a picture, not text.
For my own use, I am using DevonThink to catalog the issues. As part of the catalog process, the PDF images are scanned by OCR to recognize and save the text. |

Hi
You would be using a mac not a pc Thanks |
example PDFs
Used issue 61 as a test - searched for "contender"
example 1 - search on pdf downloaded from Pace and Cap example 2 - search on pdf after going through OCR. The biggest problem is the resulting PDFs are VERY large and may not be viable for posting to Pace and Cap. Might have to work something out via email or some other kind of transfer. The original PDF from Pace and Cap is a 3.4 MB, the OCRd version is 67.2 MB |
