PaceAdvantage Challenge Series - 8 Contests leading to 'Handicapper of the Year'

As part of marketing efforts for RDSS 2.0 (when it is released) I have decided to be a major sponsor of the PaceAdvantage.com Challenge Series, a collection of 8 different kinds of handicapping Contests leading to an overall 'Handicapper of the Year' award. (This is not the NHC/NTRA National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas!)

Here is the description of the overall Contest Series, from the PaceAdvantage Website: http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=89193

For those of you who may not be familiar, PaceAdvantage (PA) is a general purpose, though nominally pace-oriented, horse-racing bulletin board with a large membership. Many people there will have at least heard of the Sartin Methodology, many are long-time practitioners to one degree or another and many are seriously interested in improving their game. And importantly, also newcomers seeking to learn the basics. For all these reasons, it makes sense for me to begin to promote RDSS to this wider audience and, well, actions speak louder than words!

The degree of RDSS sponsorship and promotion is not yet finalized, but it will be significant and here is what I know so far:

In each of the 8 contests throughout 2012 (actually beginning December 1, see the Aqueduct Pick4 Contest info) I am offering as a prize, 3 months of RDSS Unlimited PP+Charts data plus a RDSS subscription for the same period. For the Team Contest (see the PAIHL Contest info) I am offering the 3 months data prize to each of the 3 team members. The overall Contest Series winner will receive a 1 year Unlimited PP+Charts data prize.

One of the contests in April 2012 is available to name and organize and I am negotiating to sponsor that contest on behalf of the Sartin Methodology and offer an additional cash prize - more details to follow.

If you enjoy Contest play, I would like to encourage you to consider participating in one or more of these, regardless of whether you use RDSS or whether you use any other Sartin-type approach.
I appreciate that if you yourself enjoy using RDSS, it is not your concern if anyone else also uses RDSS - but it is important to me, and it was important to Doc Sartin that those who sincerely wanted to master this game and in the process develop winning life skills be able to learn how to do that. Developing, supporting, evolving RDSS and this PaceandCap website is now my only livelihood (along with some betting) and the only way all of you will continue to enjoy using this tool long into the future is if I can make it at least a moderately successful business for me. To do this, among other things, I need a few more customers, and those potential customers need to know and see that success is possible at horse race betting using these very tools which you now enjoy and prosper from. That is why I am seeking exposure by sponsoring Contests on a rather public website and encouraging everyone to 'show the flag' as it were.
Don't worry - there will not be thousands of RDSS users, this I do guarantee. Doc Sartin once stated a goal to foster 1000 successful handicappers/bettors and I'm not sure if he ever achieved 2/3rds of that goal - but that would be about all I would ever want to handle - or allow.

To participate in these Contests, you do have to be a member of PaceAdvantage, and if you are not already, you can sign up here (free): http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/register.php? You don't have to actually read the general Discussion Forums if you don't want to, though there are many, many knowledgeable and helpful horseplayers who post there, including a number of our own members. There can also be a certain amount of negativity and unfettered (and unnecessary) unkindness - which is better ignored. Consider focusing on the Contests and the prizes, and learn from those who post with helpful hearts and clear thinking.

I will use this Contest Forum to announce Contest info, encourage signups, discuss issues, report on successes. Please check some of the other Topics here regarding individual Contests, some of which are beginning very soon.

Good luck, good skill to all - and enjoy!

Ted

Dave,

I was good to see your long run in the PA Match Play Contest - you mowed down some impressive competition and nearly made it to the final! I hope to meet you in the finals of several of the 2013 Contests.

Speaking of which, I need to update the info here about RDSS' sponsorship of the 2013 PaceAdvantage Contest series. What with the big final prize of a paid entry to the 2014 Horse Player World Series at Coast Casinos in Las Vegas, and all that lovely cash and RDSS data supplied by yours truly - it should be an attractive series this coming year, and hopfully some further exposure for RDSS and the Sartin Methodology.

Good luck Dave in all you do in the coming year!

Congrats Ted on a fine sponsorship of that event. There seemed to be a lot of excitement surrounding the year long event and your sponsorship was a big reason. Hope it is paying off for you and the RDSS family.

Jim
