Favorites at PRX
 

Since there are quite a few on this board who prefer PRX to make selections, I thought it would be interesting to see how favorites perform (since almost ALL of the posted selections include the favorite):

Races: 1576

Winning Favorites: 581

Win %: 37%

Place %: 59%

Show %: 74%

Win ROI: 0.81 (1.00 is breakeven)

Place ROI: 0.87

Show ROI: 0.90

There was no material difference when filtering for dirt vs turf, fast vs wet track, or sprint vs route.

Bottom line: Don't bet favorites to win at PRX, but make sure to use them in the place hole in exactas. If you must bet favorites, bet them to show and try to get as large a rebate as possible.
