Please Join the Contest!

Hi Folks,

Once again, we present the RDSS Sartin/Bradshaw Memorial 'Road to the Roses' Contest and invite everyone to join in for Cash and RDSS Data Prizes - and for FUN. The Contest is FREE to enter.

The last several years, this Contest has been held at the PaceAdvantage.com website as part of my Contest sponsorship there - an outreach effort to attract more people to the Sartin Methodology, and to RDSS. Last year, this Contest was won by RDSS user Tom Kalies, and 2nd place went to Dogkatcher John D - congratulations to you both - and prepare to defend your title(s)!

You need to sign up to play in the Contest --> HERE.

You also need to be a registered member at PaceAdvantage.com. If you are not yet a member, please register --> HERE. If your registration does not get activated in time to begin the Contest next Saturday March 8, please send me an email or Private Message and I will help expedite your registration there.

A Summary of the Contest Format (covered in detail at the above Signup link):
1. Win, Place or Exacta Bets in a minimum of 25 races, a maximum of 30 races between March 8 and April 19.

2. Everyone starts with a hypothetical Bankroll of $2000. You bet up to 10% of your Bankroll on up to 4 races per day. The player with the highest Bankroll at the end wins.

3. You must play in at least 8 out of 12 listed Kentucky Derby Prep Stakes races, listed in the Official Rules. The rest of your races are chosen by you, from any thoroughbred races run in North America.

4. $500 Cash Prizes go to the Top 3 finishers, and Bonus RDSS Data and Subscription Prizes go to the Top 3 RDSS players (you can win in both categories, as Tom Kalies and Dogkatcher did last year).
Please note: you don't make your Contest selections here at PaceandCap - you make them in Daily Threads to be set up in the Contest Area at PaceAdvantage.com --> HERE.

There is also a Thread in that Contest area at PaceAdvantage for 'Chatter' or commentary or questions --> HERE. OR - you can ask any questions here in this Thread.

Again, you need to sign up to play in the Contest --> HERE.

Very best of luck - and skill - to all players!

Congratulations to last year's Winner and Defending Champion: Tom Kalies!

Tom (at left) proved that his Contest win was no fluke at all by cashing impressive bets at last year's PaceandCap gathering at Saratoga!

Congratulations Tom, and prepare to defend your title!

Races

Good Skill To Tom K

Last year was interesting but I really hate these prep races
I don't want to go searching but I do remember having both Palace Malice and
Will Take Charge as right on top horses who failed yet I also had to bet Orb and Verrazano at very low odds

3 year olds who are still developing, going longer distance in big fields filled
with nothing more that maiden winners, is a good way to have a fun contest
but don't stress or blame yourself for loses

Strategy Tip

Bill,

A point of strategy: it is entirely acceptable to bet $2 to Place, or Win, or Exacta on these kinds of low-odds or high-chaos 3 YO races. The Rules say up to 10% max of your current bankroll per day. You can check-off some of those those mandatory races this way (if you wish) and save your cash for the races where you know you have an edge!

:)

Who is the guy to the left of Tom in the pic at the tables?
I think I've met that fellow but can't recall when/where/how or his name.

Help with trouble registering at PaceAdvantage.com

Many (many) people have written me saying they have trouble registering at PaceAdvantage.com for this Contest. Especially if they have email addresses like Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail and other major free (and freely abused by spammers) email services.

If you try to register and either nothing happens shortly, or you get a message that your registration is blocked (i.e. due to your email address) - don't worry: please send me a Private Message or email and tell me the User Name you were trying to register and the email address you used. I will expedite getting your new PaceAdvantage User Name set up for you so you can play in the Contest.

In ALL CASES - if you don't get set up in time because of registration problems - just make your posts here in this Thread until you can make them at PA, and I will make sure they are applied to the Contest.

Don't worry - this happens every year ...
