NHC Free Qualifier For NHC Tour Members
 

NTRA members have the opportunity to play in 5 free contests that offer 5 spots in each contest to the 2018 NHC finals in Las Vegas. This includes meals and $400.00 in airfare.
The first place prize in the NHC finals is $800,000.
Tomorrow is the first of the five and has a 12 race format.

For sure......It's a crapshoot.

With that many cappers I don't think you can play anything less than 8 to 1

Your going to need to average about $10.00 win/place mutuals in each of the 12 races in order to be in the top 5.
Being as all picks close at 3:25 PM you have to assume a strategy you feel will work and hope or "pray" that it will adapt to the contest races and conditions.
That's why the contest is appropriately named "Pick and Pray".:D

sitting 95 of 1932 going into the last race (9th at Keeneland) I have the 1 at 30/1 with only 2 others ahead of me with the same horse, if he wins I should be in?

Trying hard at the end but too little to late!

Well it was fun!!

Finished 120th top 6.2%

I finished a little better then the middle #823 out of over 1900.
Oh well, there's always next time.:)
At any rate, the price was right.

As I said the winners total was $125.80
and averaged about $10.00 win and place per race.

I haven't played or been involved in horse racing for over 4 years. I just recently started playing.
BTW, you really did well. Nice job.
I like contest play and won a few back in 2008.
I joined the tour specifically for the 5 free qualifiers and in the event I won an NHC feeder.
I generally use PaceAppraiser in combination with other
Software..
Contest play is strategic. Handicapping of the figure horse
In contest play is a non entity.
