The DMR derby turned out to be a good betting race. The 5 went off at a
generous 5/2 favorite.

The 8 has never beaten winners so I went with the 10 and 5
The 10 disappointed the 5 just missed

The winner comes out of a $100,000 restricted stakes race
My notes said "check TE " which was low against these, but he steps up
and wins

It was a tough race Bill and a case could be made for quite a few in there. The closeness of the finish positions indicated it was wide open. I thought the 6 could handle the turf based on its works over the turf and would be a good price in this one.
Played the 5 also, ran good but can't put them away in the stretch or near the wire.

Bill V. when you are at a race track in sept and oct keep your ears open about the Breeders Cup After Vasilika won at DMR on saturday Hollendorfer was interviewed after the race and he was asked if Vasillika would be pointed to the Breeders Cup. He answered it might depend on wether they run the BC at Santa Anita or move it to Churchill. There must be something going on at S.A. that we don't know about.....Keep us posted..Randy

I have not heard otherwise, but I believe Jerry is still banned from Santa Anita.
He lost 4 of the 27 horses that died over the winter/spring meet, So he got banned with all his horses, He only was able to race a few horses
at Del Mar.

Perhaps that is why he was silent about the BC at Santa Anita
Maybe some bad blood toward them

I won't see the usual gang at DMR for a while as they will be shut down for a
big concert for 2 weekends
