Breeders cup

As a long time racing fan, I'm happy to see they decided to keep the breeders cup at Santa Anita. Hope all goes well. California and all of racing could use a boost. A lot of bad press lately, from the deaths of horses to the banning of Hollendorfer and just recently the feds suing Asmussen for not paying his employees properly.

My Mom and I were just talking about this and I said to her
"1 Fall, Injury or Death on BC Day, they are done!"

Well no really done, but they would be shaking their heads if anything horrible happens.

This is the only injuries/death's in the Breeders Cup:
2017: Keen Ice injures himself before BC Classic
Lady Eli also suffers injury in Breeders Cup

2016: Metaboss is injured few days before race

2014: Wise Dan has injury before Breeders Cup race
Magician injures himself before race

2013: Secret Compass euthanized and Johnny V also injured
Ron The Greek injures himself before day of race

2012: Questing suffers eye injury in race

2011: Tizway retired days before race

2007 Classic: George Washington is euthanized

2006: Pine Island euthanized, Fleet Indian suffers injury

2001- Point Given misses Breeders Cup
Exogenous injured right before race
Jump Start veers off racetrack, suffering non-death injury

Years at Santa Anita: 1986, 1993, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016
. There have been 4 injures in the last 4 years at Santa Anita. So will there be another injury? Maybe, but we will see in 5 months.

Don't forget Go For Wand and Mr Nickerson in 1990 at Belmont Park Breeders Cup. These were the first two deaths at a Breeders' Cup. In addition, Shaker Knit was seriously injured when he fell over the fallen Mr Nickerson.
