Eliminating Contenders

I found this in one of the FU'S and wanted to get other people's opinion on it.Eliminate horses whose middle hidden fraction is greater than it's first fraction.Jeff

Jeff: I Am Not So Sure That I Agree With That Point. It Seems To Me That You Can Not Have A Hard And Fast Rule Like That Because That Type Of Horse May Very Well Win A Sustained Type Of Race. I Would Say That, As A Starting Point, It Is Smart To Take A Very Careful Look At A Horse Whose Hidden Is So High Because It Will Probably Be Too Far Back To Win Most Races. Gary

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Jim "The Hat Bradshaw" has on occassions switched the first fraction and second fraction if this was not a usual occurance for a particular horse.

Jeff, one exception I can think of is Invasor who had a greater F2 than F1. Take a look at forecast's screenshots for the BC Classic. Also I think I worked the Whitney Handicap (the Energy area) in which Invasor had a F2 greater than F1. Granted these were longer route races and I think the comment that you read has merit, but not in all cases. For myself Jeff, I have found what you stated to be mostly true for me in sprint races by my contender and paceline selection.
