RDSS Win %
Ted,
RDSS/Val4 now has only a 78% win in the contest. This is taking the challenge out of things. If you could add the TV talking heads comments and the racing form selections, maybe we could get that % down to about 40% and the challenge would be back in it. Thanks, Froggy |
Well, there's always non-stakes races... The next frontier! Congratulations on some consistent fine work.

Ted,
Stakes Races are what I usually avoided in the past. Maybe I'll have to change "Paradigms". Froggy |
Right. Make a list of all race categories to avoid:
1. Stakes 2. Maidens, 3. Turf 4. low class claimers, 5. 2 years olds, 6. lightly raced, 7. 'suspicious' tracks (CT, MNR, PEN...) 8. bunch of Earlies 9. bunch of Non-Earlies Then one by one, specialize in them until you find what works. Sounds like you've got #1 checked off...:) yours, Ted |
Ted:
Why not try 1-2 tracks/cards with three win bets per track/card (one or two horses) at $10 per race. It is up to the member to pick which type of race to bet but surely most will be looking for solid odds. If the member bets before scratches and if scratched that bet is out, not counted as part of the win/loss calculation. This surely will give you a much larger somewhat real world measure of the program’s success rate. If the members happen to be home it will be almost like a group day at the track with bets coming in just before post time. You can decide on day tracks or night tracks or weekends only, etc. In the end whatever RDSS challenge is put out there I will try to participate. Robert |
Ted,
You made the list I think I'll work on it this week. I once knew a semi famous screen writer/play write that hung out in one of the books in Vegas. He did quite well with 6f races, no others, not turf, not 5.5f or 6.5f, just 6f dirt. He was a specialist. Froggy |
