Jeff,

I think that I have some of the worksheets that came with the book or maybe I requested them after I bought the book. I'll scan one in and send you a pdf of it. Hopefully it's what you're looking for.

Hi Bud,

I'd be interested in that PDF file as well.

My main interest would be on how the TPR numbers are formulated so that I can do the numbers by hand.

I would be curious as to anybody's opinion as to
how to use TPR numbers on PolyTrack and how you would go about this.

For dirt and turf tracks it seems as though the TPR should be adjusted to the track and daily variants.
Which is the normal situation.

I don't think you can gauge Polytracks - "Raw" unadjusted TPRs might be the way to go.

It has been said that there are some horses that take to the "Poly" and others that don't like it.
I was also told that all "Poly" tracks are made to the same standards but display different characteristics
according to the environment and weather conditions for a specific area.

Unfortunately there are so many invariables involved in horse racing that it makes one wonder if the numbers generated by the form and software are enough to achieve a consistent rate of predictabilty.

Here's a pdf version of the Total Pace Rating Form I made

I like the form but was wondering how or what do you use to formulate your calculations? Are you doing them by hand or are you using a program? I have used Synergism 4 to do this but gives you the adjusted figure and includes the average daily variant and then there's an older program TPR that gives you the "Raw" numbers. I believe Phase 1 gives you the option to adjust.

anyone know of an updated Track Class rating chart similar to the one the book.

It's not valid at least in my home circuit

The Book has LA Downs over the Fair Grounds

LA Downs now runs alot cheaper horses than the Fair Grounds now

I don't know maybe with opening of Lone Star in 97 changed the class structure here.

Oak Lawn, Lone Star & Fair Grounds on top
LA Downs, Remington & Sam Houston in the middle
Delta, Evangline & Retma on the bottom

I'm going through the book now, I'm doing them by hand now

Here in word format is an up-dated Track Class Chart format that I adopted from Dave Schwartz's recent pars. His pars give a level for each track with a number such as 102.5 for Arlington Park for example. I ranked these tracks from high to low and broke them out in 10 track levels.

This is somewhat subjective on my part, but I think they are accurate.

Looks good, don't know if I'd rank Evangeline that high, I'd rank Evg between LA Downs and Delta... Evg runs a little bit cheaper horses, but looks good
