Dec 1944 could be 45

ya know my middle name is Henry. i was born in 52. My uncle Henry(mother's side) was killed in france that year 44. I am cleaning out my mothers house several years ago(sold--assisted living) when i find these letters to my mother from Henry. from Aug of 44 to thanksgiving of the same year.
from NC. to europe. he was 19. the family is all gone now . even first cousins are gone. its so sad that not much of the family really knows about this. lost in history. i guess a church in Ambridge,pa would collect rocks from the "boys'" inservice in the states and display them out front. his is there.
