How is this handled?

Been wondering about this situation for a while.

The example selected is nothing special, just something that triggered this query.

Here's the past performance line for Jennings, entered in today's 6th at CD.

7- 7.5, 7- 11, 9- 6.25, 3- 2

now, it appears that the horse ran well, closing significantly.

When we look at the chart of the race, however, we notice that the horse essentially went with the flow of the race and didn't do anything of note. (This 'type' of race is fairly common on the turf, and poly; it's a cavalry charge of sorts )

My question: how does this horse's performance appear to those using numeric figures? Obviously this would depend on pace for those doing the figures but is there any way to distinguish this type of race from one in which a horse closes against the flow? This would be obvious in the chart.
Not to say, of course, that this type of move wouldn't be upgraded if the pace were ridiculously slow.

It is the influence of the TRACK that one ran on last out DIRT (OP) to syntho-garbage (Kee).

Is there another e/l like it? Nope

BTW, the horse just ran 2nd, missing by a nose.
