Try this
I suggested to Guy, and he was working on it, to establish an internal database to record, and average the winning e/l of each horse on the best of last three E/EP line coming into a race.
We were trying to establish an average e/l number per distance, per track and then overlay a RED line top to bottom, on the e/l screen to establish relativity of the field to the average of that distance. That middle line between positive and negative numbers, throws people off to where the median actually is per distance. I use a red string that I hang off the top of the laptop screen and then place it down over the e/l screen AT THE POINT of that average and then equate the field from that internal standard. That would be an interesting addition to the program if it could be included. |

'...record, and average the winning e/l of each horse on the best of last three E/EP line coming into a race'
You need to clarify, please. Do you mean perhaps: for the horse who won a given race, consult the previous 3 E/ep figures on the Energy screen for that horse and identify the highest E/ep value. Then, for that paceline, record the E/L value (perhaps subject to certain caveats). Store this E/L number in a database, by track, distance, surface. In new races, consult the average of this E/L number (or median, tossing outliers past a certain number of standard deviations?), over a specified time period, and overlay the number (or perhaps a range) on the E/L graph for today's race, both for individual horses' E/L graphs and for the horses compared to each other? Something like that? Ted Average/Median Attachment 16368 Range Attachment 16369 |
Winning line: establish averages per track. distance. Use them as the midpoint overlay on each race that fits that standard for distance at THAT track
Your display is accurate for the idea |
Certainly we can, and will, store the E/L number for any paceline(s) selected by the user for the winner, then use those stored numbers, by track, surface, distance in average (or range) calculations and displays.
I don't understand what you mean in the references to E/ep you made above, as you did not confirm that my restated understanding was correct. It sounds like you're referring to some kind of automated method of storing an E/L figure for the winning horse based on best of last 3 E/ep figures, but who knows. Ted |
The IDEA was to have an idea where MEDIAN was for each distance based upon the line(s) selected for the winning horse.
