FG 6th race; a different approach

Turf route race moved to the dirt; only two or three horses with any demonstrated dirt ability. Recency was a question with many of these. I percieved the favorite as dubious! Five year-old mare moving from a 20k claiming win to a preleminary Non-Winners of one other than....

A sprinter, off since June, caught my eye. The track is moving to muddy/sloppy, and this filly had acceptable off track form. I bet two horses, $2.00 each - don't take these races seriously - usually stay away from off tracks - but I hadn't made any bets for the day and my eye kept returning to this three-old filly. She was the right age for this condition, and had been racing in allowance condtions since breaking her Maiden. So I overlooked the her lack of recency. Had no idea how she would have measured up using RDSS, the program I usually use, but was relunctant to apply numbers because of the off-track and having so many turf horses entered.

Sometimes your intuition will guide you to the best decision. I make no apologies for the $4.00 investment, agreed, not a princely sum, but it fits my style of play; bet a little to win a lot.

Good Get Chris

Nice 1.... Roi will always compute the same whether its $2 or $200...keep it up..

FG's will be having Monday racing till the end of their meet and its usually a slow race day so it will be one of the tracks i will keep a close eye on.

Good Luck..

Jess
