Aline Best R.I.P.

I learned today that Aline Best has passed away. This was a lady who knew nothing about horses til her later yeards when Doc took her under his wing and helped her become a consistent winner for years. She was very very helpful to those who asked her.

I liked her a LOT. I used to call her and she had that voice that would crack me up. She would yell at me sometimes and I would tell her " u are a tough son of a bitch" . She would laugh and say "no I am not".

When I came back to the civilized world in 2002 after being away for 2 years I called her. We spoke for over an hour and she told me she had stopped wagering cause she could not sit long enough to do the work necessary to WIN.

Aline thank you for the help you gave me when I would ask. You were very cool!

Rest in Peace

Richie

Wow. More sad news. What a sweet lady
She was a real inspiration to me. I got to know here pretty well
from Doc. She would often talk to me while I was talking to Doc
on the phone . I met here when I went to visit Doc
I sat with her at dinner that night treated by Doc
She was a real nice lady who loved what she was doing. Loved to win races just as I do just betting the readouts
She worked very hard for Doc and Mary jr on tech support and the mailing of the follow ups Saidly she was a friend of Guy Wasdworth

So sorry to hear of Aline's passing. She was always willing to help out with tech support of the programs, even when her pain was making life difficult for her. She will be missed. Thanks, Rich, for letting us know... Marty

Marty,
Aline told me once to pay attention to your followup article where u worked a couple of races after a visit with Doc. She told me to notice the races you posted had no real issues yet produced very nice cashes for you. She stressed PATIENCE a lot to me Marty. Patience and hard work to be honest.

I still have the followup with your article in it and read it now and then to remind me of things when I start "getting away" from what got me here.

All the best to you and yours

Richie

Richie: Aline certainly exemplified what she spoke of--patience and hard work. If only all of us could be as fortunate. Thanks for your kind words. It's nice to know that you might have been helped by anything I've said... Marty
