I enjoyed your post tonight Partsnut. At a time when my brain was done for the day it was nice to sit down and watch the races at Penn and follow your picks. You did very well. I do have a question. Are these your top 4 after eliminations and HIDES of favorites? Or did you leave the top horses in (RDSS)?

Hi Ron,

I usually eliminate down to 4 or sometimes 5 contenders.
I look at the last 3 lines for each horse but will go deeper
if the lines are within 90 days, I look for finishes within 3 lengths and
not less then 3rd. However, I will go to 5th by 7.5 lengths if the latter does not exist. I use the perceptor when I want to compare or split pace lines that are close or similar as my line choice decision maker.

I export to KGEN. KGEN will tell me whether the race favors early or sustained (varigate). Ten I look for top 2 horses that fit the varigate.

I have found that the results will be positive the majority of the time for a fast track. I try to avoid "off tracks" and 2 YO races.

Thanks for sharing Partsnut. I appreciate your work. I don't think I have strict enough rules for eliminations after reading yours.
