This was an interesting race scenario (and the reason why I was inquiring as to OTE and dirt to turf).

The 2 horse looked to be ideally set to be the OTE and going off at a good price. As you can see from the results that was not the case. I watched the race and I thought that he was making a move towards the stretch but it was a little too little too late. Also the 2 had 0 early speed in this race. It went to the rear and pretty much stayed there sightseeing.

With regards to pace lines I used best of three.

Anyone see anything different?

Tanks.

5 Fur Turf

Would the fact that the 2 and the 6 horses have no turf lines and
also being hoplessly out classed have any effect on this race?

Good Sunday morning Terry

Isn't it interesting that you set the second call POR to 43.2

Now look at the 2 horse. In the two races were it faced the fastest POR
which would be line 1 44.3 and line 4 44.7 It was beaten by 5 and 6 lengths

Now today if you made the 2 a true contender and you set the pace of race
at 43.2 You were counting on 3 unknowns
1. How will it handle a faster pace
2. How will it handle the turf
3. The class of this race

The results show that the 2 once again tried to keep up with the POR of just what you predicted 43.2
but was 5 lengths behind

I don't have GP downloaded but I will look over your lines

Good Skill

The readings that I counted on were the CSR in New Pace and the PoH readings.

I knew that the 2 didn't match the class but the CSR and PoH seemed to jive. Which brings me to this question:

This race is a good example for discussion; if the 2 horse, which was out classed BUT had the 2nd CRS numbers and could hold its ground with PoH stand a chance? I knew that it couldn't keep up with the Fulcrum but in the OTE theme was there the possibility?

Better put; could a horse from a 5,000 claimer with a CSR of 180 hold it's own against a group of 10,000 claimers with an average CSR of 165? The same goes for PoH ratings?

How do we manage superior numbers of lower class horses vs higher class horses with inferior numbers?

Continuing on:

Does a 170 CSR in a 5,000 claimer = a 170 CSR in a 10,000 claimer?

Does a 174 PoH rating in a 5,000 claimer = a 174 PoH rating in a 10,000 claimer?
