Match Up

So why would anyone ask a highly opinionated NON-Matcher about the Match Up? So many of your comments illustrate your ignorance of the subject. I have spent the last 7 years learning the Match Up and...

Ted,

I downloaded again about 20 minutes ago and everything is perfect, no problem whatsoever. I have the paceline selection routine set for "last line" always and due to my previous problems with...

Bill Burns, a brilliant engineer, authored a phenomenal handicapping back in the 90's called Thoro - something, I can't remember the full name. He averaged pacelines. Ken Massa, whose HTR and...

These people help create the wagering pools. They are the source of much of the "uninformed" money in those pools that we take home. They serve a purpose and I wish them the best in continuing...

You can get this

If you compare the 2nd line with the two bottom lines run about 6 months ago you can see that the horse has deteriorated. These 3 races are very similar from a pace standpoint, condition, distance...

I am having a horrible time using the program, unfortunately. Almost every mouse click will bring a blue circle and "not responding", sudden program crashes or something called Library error, with a...

Key Races

I limit my consideration of key races to Maiden Special Weight and Allowance NW-1X with large fields at major tracks. But generally, these races will be fast early and final time so you can see them...

Fantastic!!

Mitch, you win because you have put in the work. You have confidence. Many of the youngsters to Pace and Cap and RDSS haven't. I can't count how many have come on and posted only to start asking...

I am a Bradshaw proponent. I started attempting to learn the Match Up going on 6 years ago. I found the Sartin Methodology in the early 90s and it gave form and structure to my handicapping. But I...

Where did that come from, Jeebs?

Those are serious questions. They are not judgmental or critical of anyone's methods.

Ask yourself! If you are satisfied with the answers then what are you...

Why?

Why would you ever consider a turf line in a sloppy or muddy race?
Why would you consider a horse that has never run on dirt, fast, sloppy or muddy as a win contender?
Selecting pacelines is...

Match Up

I'm in my 6th year of Matching horses. I still only bet horses over 6/1 because it is a continual process of learning. Unless you are 100% committed to this work, don't start.

One Approach

Bill,

I have read all of FTL's posts, some multiple times. I have great respect for his work and the hours spent handicapping and posting his work and results. I could care less that much of it...

In my view

Bill,

Being a Bradshaw advocate my reading of the horse's pps is more specific. Looking at each race at today's track, whenever this horse has run against a sub 23 first fraction he cannot...

Much appreciated

I for one greatly appreciate the work and time invested by FTL in posting his research and methods. Whether races posted before or after they ran made no difference as he applied his criteria exactly...

Unfortunate

Money, wealth and intelligence don't necessarily go together. The winning of a Triple Crown should be celebrated and applauded by all rather than held up to ridicule in the Public eye. Baffert's...

Picking pacelines

In the last year I have changed the way I get to my paceline selection for each horse in the race. I still don't care where it is in the horse's pps. And I hope the majority of horseplayers continue...

How can the #5 be a contender if he can't get the lead? Year Segment screen suggests that he will be two lengths off at the 1st call. That would indicate that he will press. Has he ever won as a...

3rd off a 200+ day layoff

edited by Bill V. If the 3rd race off a layoff is the "Money Run", then what are the 1st and 2nd races following the layoff? Not "Money Runs", get it?
Each horse is different as are their trainers....
