Dear Joe:
There is no question in my mind that Aodds uses all or most of the concepts from Energy. I think Aodds is brilliant in many regards, especially projecting the time of the race. I find the projected pace times to be very accurate in most cases and I rarely change the projected times. I use the past performance section of Aodds Gold 98 exclusively for my paceline selection. I change the selected paceline probably about 20% of the time. I think Aodds Gold 98 uses Matchup concepts to the max. Even has all of the tandem races identified.
However, I do not think that Aodds necessarily replaces Energy. I know that I can usually determine what Energy will say from an analysis of the Aodds screens, such as velocity. I always have Energy up and running at the same time as Aodds. However, I frequently know what Energy will say from looking at the Aodds screens. I usually go to Energy to double check.
