Tim, E is an old TrackMaster code for Artificial or Poly in RDSS coding (I think it historically came from something named Equitrack?).

I is Inner dirt (AQU Inner). N is iNner turf when there are 2 Turf courses at a track (e.g. Saratoga, Belmont, Canterbury, maybe a few others still running, can't remember which though). I don't think GP inner turf gets this designation.
