I live about 30 minutes from Hawthorne.
And about30 minutes from Sportsmans.
And about 30 from Arlington.
Sportsmans Park ran for years until the owner died.
His kids took over tore it down to make some car race
track. Not the ideal place for one. Needless to say the kids
should of stuck with the ponies. It went down the tubes.
Arlington wanted a casino to supplement the ponies.
Illinois said no way. Then after they tore it down then
they said ok?
But Hawthore is still up and running.
The quality of horses i think is there last stop before
the glue factory. But I never cared what the class was
as long as you could bet on it.
