Joe,
From browsing your website, it's clear you are quite involved in racing, a lover of the sport and possibly already an accomplished handicapper, don't know.
My recommendations for a Sartin Methodology education are:
1. Pace Makes the Race (gave this to my Mom and she's starting to get it!)
2. Modern Pace Handicapping (Mom's looking worried...)
3. Match Up 2, then all the posts in the Hat Check forum (Mom want's to make Richie some chicken soup)
4. The Follow Up Library, beginning with Issues 75 and onward, with a focus on discussion of the concepts and software implementing BL/BL, V/DC, wagercapping and Psychology of Winning.
5. Get Speculator (or RDSS when available) and follow along with the numerous published race workups until you understand the line of reasoning used.
6. After a bit, post a race which you won or lost and your application of concepts such as you understand them currently. Other folks can chime in and give the benefit of some experience.
(That should keep you going for a couple of years!)
In case your ordered copy of 'Pace Makes the Race' is NOT Edition 1, here's a chapter by Doc Sartin from that Edition which is not included in the 2nd Edition.

All the best,
