As a matter of fact, at PRM (Prairie Meadows) this past year I was watching a low level claiming race at 6 or 7 furlongs and the Jockey (I can't remember who it was) performed quite admirably. The pace was too hotly contested on the front end as he was involved with two other horses each neck and neck on the front through the first fraction. The jockey got the horse to relax and pull back without having to fight against the horse (of course, the horse just so happened to comply on this day) and it allowed for the other two horses to absorb the pressure from the front end almost entirely while allowing for this horse to respond with an almost slingshot like move to victory in what I believe became a track record at the time.

Have a Great Day Mike.
